Poll Results & Bug Fix!

11/05/2025 11:12 am

Hello everyone and welcome to a mid-week update! We saved this update since it's quite boring and a bit more of a โ€œcleaning upโ€ kind of update. Today we have news about our recent community poll and some changes to auctions.

๐Ÿ“ Community Poll Results

Our community poll results are in! We asked you to vote on updating all the old art to generics or not. The results of the poll show 96 of you voted with 57.3% voting to update all the horse art to our new style using generic bases. This means all breeds in-game that donโ€™t have their own stand-alone art will keep a generic base until their art is updated.

However, we were asked if we would consider this suggestion and add these changes should all the art be updated to the new style. Of which, we are happy to oblige. As an exciting bit of an art sneak peek letโ€™s take a look at our generic draft base with these fancy bolder base colors.

With the updated colors, we will be re-working our currently in progress bases. This means we are pushed back a bit with releases with a new goal to have all the campaign breeds done by mid-January and currently done pures done by the end of January. Thunderbolt will be working on our generic horse bases which means the switch to those will occur once those are ready to release. The date we change over to all of the new art style is TBD. We are working to both release new base colors, release updated tack, and release the full back log of all our bases. Whew. Lots to do!

๐ŸฆŸ Auction Changes

Apparently during the life-time of our auctions there has been a major bug that allowed folks to magically make ingots and money appear. Thankfully, we were alerted to this but have found that the auction bug had previously been seriously abused. Due to our logging system, most of the bug abuse can not be traced back and we are having to check questionable accounts manually. Sadly, several players who abused the bug have been able to have ingots in-game without spending any RL money which has cost the game a very pretty penny and put many ingots on the market that should not be. A huge thank you to those who reported this bug to us and were honest when you realized what had happened. To those who abused the error, you will only be able to see this news from afar as your accounts have been banned.

Now on to the changes. Due to the nature of the bug and after getting input from our staff, we have removed the option to delete your auction bids. This means when you bid on an auction you can no longer remove that bid. Auctions now function like: you place a bid, a pop up asks you to confirm you want to make a bid, you confirm and your bid is placed and bid amount removed from your total.

rahbit: ALL old art is getting redone eventually. This decision just means that the horses that haven't been redone yet will be temporarily updated to generic bases until they get their breed specific art.

New draft base is cute butโ€ฆ I'm with Maki on this. We'll have to wait even longer now for each individual breed to be updated and for what? Tack that most of the player base doesn't use? I feel like the wording on the original post led people to believe tack would be no longer made full stop, not that there would be a pause on it. Really hope this doesn't cause frustration in the long run.

The draft bases look beautiful and thank you for listening to us about editing colours.

But I have to be honest I am very disappointed with the poll results, I loved the old art style and whilst I accepted that it would be gone sooner or later anyways that was also done under the belief that they would be getting individual art. I don't use tack in this game so I didn't care about every single piece of tack on every single breed being perfect. Horses all having the same generic base has been one of the big reasons that I lose interest in games like these.

Editting this quickly because I realise I worded this weird.
Edit: I understand that they will eventually get individual art but waiting time for new art will likely be many months. That means many months with all my different breed horses looking the exact same which really isn't something I like.

Wow! The draft bases look amazing- and I love the new bright colours!

I will admit Iโ€™m also quite sad about the poll results but thanks for hearing our input. I do hope that means though that new art for the pure breeds will be a top priority! I suppose when the time comes Iโ€™ll have to find a breed with new art to play with while I freeze and wait for all my usual favourites to be updated โ€ฆ

As always thanks for the hard work!!

Disappointed. I'll probably be cancelling the sub on my side account and freezing it again, and probably this account too until my main breeds are updated. I'm sorry but I just cannot with the generic light cross, it's my least favourite art out of all of them and the majority of my horses will look like that.

That poll was way too close to 50/50 for you not to find some compromise between the two options (like my suggestion of just having the new tack be invisible on the old art, or only equippable to updated art). Discounting the opinion of half your player base because they lost by a few votes is a decision for sure.

I am happy my suggestion for the colours is being looked at, but based on the votes for that feature request, it should have been done regardless of the poll outcome anyway so I feel like it's a poor trade off

Oh I didn't think about my sub. Yeah, why would I want to pay for my horses that all look the same.

Its just incredibly baffling to me people would rather have updated tack then individual breeds. Like, most games don't even have the option of tack being viable on the horses anyway. I would rather deal with wonky tack on horses that look as they should or no tack at all then every horse looking the same.

And I wont even truly know what my horse looks like until it eventually gets new art. So yeah no point in playing really. And new tack has to be made per breed regardless.

This bums me out even more then counting and realizing there was a tie in votes for Knab, Walker, Teke and Welsh B and we got Teke. Enough people wanted those and it got decided for us.

Now almost half of the player base is disappointed and again, not sure how new players will feel coming to game where almost every horse looks like the same 5 models and only a handful look correct, and some are made up breeds. (Not that I disagree on campaigns getting the art they are owed)

I get people's frustrations but generic bases are only temporary. It's only until their new breed art is made and released. I guess I just don't understand why that would make one not want to play anymore? But, to each their own. It was a fairly done poll so no one really has the right to be mad at the devs about it. The players are the ones who voted.

I personally chose to use generic bases so that the art style was uniform across the site. It's really jarring for me to have the old-old, old, and new art styles all together at the same time. Having all the horses on temporary generic bases will in my opinion make the site look cleaner.

I do think as a suggestion though some disclaimer once the generic bases are in use that some breeds WILL be getting updates.

Personally the tack had absolutely nothing to do with my voting decision.

Agreed with Champagne and Ahleksi, especially about a disclaimer regarding art being updated. I chose it solely for uniformity and just.. ripping the band-aid off of waiting for new art. Tack is ok, but it wasn't a factor in my vote. It'll also allow for use of the mane and tail shears while we wait - so all our ponies can have pretty hair. Focusing on what's good and what good is coming is the play - plus campaigns getting consistent updates and sketches have been great! The draft base is so promising for the bases to come, too. The art is temporary, and it looks like a lot of the breeds are getting player feedback as they're being made - which is also feels like a huge step in the right direction.

They could have very easily just chosen and not given us an option, so for the bare minimum of player input, I'm thankful. I don't think we would have gotten that under the previous regime.
