Irish Cob Redo, Campaign Changes, and Breed Vote!

4/17/2026 12:08 pm

Hello everyone and happy update day! Today we release new Irish Cob Art, announce a change to campaigns, have our FINAL round of new breed voting, and squash a few bugs.

๐Ÿด NEW: Irish Cob Art Redo

Today we welcome our new Irish Cob art! Irish Cobs are currently our #3 most popular breed with 2,937 horses! The new art is similar to our previous Irish Cob with a galloping pose, long wavy hair, and giant feathering. All Irish Cobs in-game have been updated to display the newest art.

๐ŸŽ New Breed Final Vote!

We have narrowed down the top favorite breeds from 3 rounds of voting and we now have our 4th and final vote! This vote allows you to pick your top favorite breed from the list. Voting is allowed for all your accounts. To vote click here.

Fundraiser Reminder: Museum of Chincoteague Island

As a reminder, we have our Chincoteague Pony Coin fundraiser currently running! Previously HoFa has aimed to launch at least one fundraiser a year for causes and organizations we believe in. In 2023 with the release of the Chincoteague Pony, we fundraised $2,556 for the Save the Beebe Ranch fundraiser through the Museum of Chincoteague Island. With the re-release of Chincoteague Ponies we are renewing our dedication to fundraising for the Museum of Chincoteague Island by contributing 25% of Chincoteague Pony coin sales to supporting their museum. Chincoteague Pony coins will be for sale for $5 for 2 coins in the ingot store from now until April 30 at 11:59pm EST/game time. To donate to the museum directly, follow this link.

๐Ÿช™ Campaign Price Changes

Today we must announce something that has sadly been a long time coming and we have pushed off as long as we can. We understand this change is going to upset many of you currently working on campaigns but we have tried our best to hold off as long as possible. Due to increased costs of art, coat colors, and tack we must increase the cost of releasing campaign breeds. Campaigns currently cost $500 to fully fund them for art. However, the total cost of a campaign after greyscale, coloring, tack adjustment, time to upload and storage pricing range from $700-1,000 each. Due to this, we currently lose money on campaigns and thus releasing them is no longer sustainable. To fix this issue we will be increasing the cost to release campaign art to $1,000 each. Anyone who does not have 100% funding by May 15 will have their total changed to the new art cost of $1,000 per campaign.

๐ŸฆŸ Bug Fixes

  • You can now register horses again
  • Chincoteague Coins now have markings 1-6 available again
  • Added a fix for the +/- PS in the design lab maxing out at 100
  • Light tan harnesses can now be bought again
  • Fixed assorted NSH tack pieces
  • Fixed AMH dapple layer

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Cheers,

The HoFa Team

In question to the change of cost for the campaign, would the campaign itself have to be 100% or could the 500 dollars be funded to the campaign even if the campaign may not have gen 3 horses? To clarify what I'm asking, would the 100 campaign coins be considered the 100% funded or would the campaign have to be 100% done?

The Irish Cob art so cool! Very exciting to see the site grown and become more refined. I am coming back from hiatus so I am not sure how breeds are getting picked for redraw but Iโ€™d personally love seeing the Appaloosa get some TLC.

@Ryle Walstad, Appaloosas are currently in the process of getting redone (the greyscale is currently getting colored). Here's how the sketch for the redone version looked like! โ†’ https://horsefable.com/topic/7700?page=2

@Kentucky Great question - just the funding will need to be completed before the price raise.

I would've preferred tack be removed from the game entirely than a price increase on campaigns and we go back to just the base 6 variations if it's costing that much extra for coat colours.

I feel like campaigns that have already completed breeding and have some funding should be exempt from this.

The vampiric hotbloods and Georgian grandes will especially be affected by the change, they're almost finished and have a large number of contributors, and in just a month the goalposts move.

On the note of the price of the campaigns going up, I do think that is more sustainable for the site. I personally think that more tack art is also very good for the site. Other sites will give players โ€œbonusโ€ items for upgraded accounts which promotes the monthly subscriptions. Though on those sites the items can be used an unlimited amount of times.
In addition to the campaigns going up for cost stability I think it is also good just for maintaining site growth. If the site is only ever focused on adding features (like adding new breeds etc.) than the things that need to get refined (like the clunky UI) will get ignored; that will not be so good in the long run.

Good for growth?

Ironically this (along with the decision to move everything to generic art) has me considering cancelling my subs due to my financial situation.

Still thinking it over but this change will probably mean that I won't be spending money on the site any more.
