@Kimchi - agreed. The Chincos look very odd to me as well. Have felt the same way watching the Walkaloosas art progress - they look very similar in they seem disproportionate and, well.. like they're put together from art that doesn't really go together. The manes and tails look more like plastic pieces on a model horse than hair.

I'm disappointed that the current campaigns won't get custom art, at least as of now. I guess my unpopular opinion on that is that it feels very cheated to have raised $500 with the promise of new art to receive pieced together art. 🤷‍♀️

@aleon Why would you even cross my mind in a conversation about rescue accounts? Anti-branding is extremely common among them. Me bringing it up has nothing to do with you.

I'm so confused as to why you've blocked me and then continue to interact in the first place. I've gone out of my way to respect the fact that you don't want to converse with me (because, let's be honest, the blocking system does nothing) and yet you've attempted to do it twice now. I really don't think I'm the problem here lmao.

Thats pretty fair, spending that much should be for custom art, even if it means waiting for a new artist. In my opinion, and not sure if its unpopular or not, but there should be less focus finding a perfect match to Solo's art and more to find someone who can just provide new art

I guess my unpopular opinion is I would like to basic functionality and quality of life improvements before new additions to the game. I know the team is working on this, but I would really like more filters in the horse search. Such as searchable option for performance stats and then tab filters on searched horses to then order them by highest PS ect.

Maki-- yes your comment reminded me that I too honestly don't care much if the "style" of art matches the previous art. Obviously it shouldn't be drastic like cartoon type art, but I think the new artist should be allowed to bring in their own unique style.

I agree about QOL developments. I really wouldn't mind delays to quests and stuff if we could get some better search features, more uses for tags, etc. I feel like we lost a lot of functionality when we changed to this layout that isn't being re-introduced and that's been disappointing. Quests are interesting and all, but I've stuck with this game for years because I like the showing and breeding aspects of it, above all the extra stuff that other sites put in.

Also agree that trying to exactly match the art style seems unecessary. As long as it looks good and within the same realistic style the game's been using I don't see why it has to be identical.

Another unpopular opinion I might have as a pintaloosa breeder is that I don't really want them to get custom art lol. I like the grade stock art a lot and don't feel like they need separate art. Plus not sure how it'll turn out at this point bc the APH and Appaloosa art is so different, it's not like you can merge them?

@reddrookk Where do you find progress on the Walkaloosa art? Is it in that club's forum or the discord? Just curious I feel like I don't know where anything is getting posted these days.

@Kimchi Salad - agreed - I would honestly be happy if Walkaloosas just got switched to the stock art and left that way if they won't get custom art. Also agreed with the style itself.

i mean... i really dont like the majority of the "rescue accounts" behaviour, but not ALL of them are bad. 

I agree with the not liking the newer horse art and it not really matching anything else. I said it when the Arabian art was originally switched because they look like plastic dolls. Another opinion is that I don't like that it seems like new features are being added over fixing bugs that have existed for a long time. When the Arabian coat/genetic lines broke with the change of how white was displayed I had so many broken images for such a long time and in the end if I remember correctly the images weren't fixed just the genetic string. It's honestly one of the reasons I'm not really active anymore.

I also don't care if the new art style matches Solo's perfectly- artists should be allowed to express their own style... I just want a new artist and new art- I don't care who creates it, as long as it's better than piecemealed horses.

Just adding my two cents regarding the art getting redone for AMH and other crossbreeds - Yes you guys did fund raise $500 for the art, but the money still went into paying people to make the "pieced together" art. Curly spent a lot of her time to make the bases, asking for feedback from players, and then from there Brumby and I spent a lot of time making all the different layers that go into the new breeds. It can take me about 10 hours to do all the tack assets (there's a LOT!) and Brumby usually does the breed color/marking layers, I don't know exactly how long it takes her but I'm gonna roughly guess it's about the same or even longer. There's lots of colors and variations to do! And we get paid to do this stuff. I believe Shoe, as the president of AMH was okay with the pieced together art and was excited for art in general. If the president/club memebers approve the base art I don't think it's fair to have to go back and redo it because all the work that Curly, Brumby, and myself will have to be redone and esentially costing the game twice the amount to do it. So if you're not happy with the current rendition of your cross art, I would make sure to message Curly ASAP and let her know that you would be happy to wait until a new artist is found. (Take into consideration this could still be awhile yet.) 

On that topic - I would also like to add my support that I would be okay with a slightly different style of art. It would be nice if we could be given a couple samples of trials maybe from 2-3 artists and the community could vote. :)
