unpopular opinions in hofa?

hello everyone! I'm just curious as to what y'all's unpopular hofa opinions are! it can be anything, and I'll go first!

1). once a horse reaches offspring limit, it should be fixed. or once a horse breed that doesn't have a set limit, reaches 5-10 foals, it should be fixed. or, if anything, if a horse can reach a set offspring limit, then take it off stud/brood if you don't want it fixed.

2). horses shouldn't be able to be set up for breeding, until they are of the right level to breed. it's frustrating when I go to breed but the horse isn't the right level.

3). unboarded horses shouldn't be allowed to be set up for breeding either. went to breed awbs, and most of the mares I believe aren't even boarded, so it was hard to find a mare.

these are just mine! remember to not judge others for their unpopular opinion(s)! what are your unpopular opinions?

Report anyone messaging you to buy horses. Let a mod know, its against the rules.

I agree with your 2 and 3! Others I have personally:

1) Branding doesn't bother me in the slightest. If I forget to brand a horse before I sell it, thats my problem, and now whoever bought it and branded it. I love branding fancy wilds that I catch, kinda just feels like a "I did this!!" :) While I do understand that branding irl is painful, I see brands in game more like how some stables will put there initials in front of their horse's names (ex: Stars Hollow Stable breeds a horse, and names it "SHS Pretty Horsie")

2) I think all breeds should have a level requirement to breed of 25. It can be really tempting, especially as a new player, to just breed horses willy nilly and not taking into account their level and what TB their foal would have. It's not too hard to get horses to level 25, and it would greatly improve the value of all horses, which I think would help with the amount of low PS and TB horses in the market

I agree with 3!

I personally think that (in some parts of) HoFa community could maybe make it so we could like posts!😊

I don't like the horse art.

I think it's too blurry and oversaturated, and it clashes with the rest of the game's art (tack, decorations, backgrounds...). Paint horses, Thoroughbreds, and Marwaris are the only breeds with the art I like - I feel it's more detailed, balanced, and pleasant to the eye. And, consequentially, Marwaris are the only breed I play with since there's no plan to "redo" them to look like the rest of the game's horses (i.e., blurry and oversaturated).

The recent news post reminded me of that, but I couldn't think of a tactful way of commenting on this (especially since the post called the current art style "beautiful"). But... this is an unpopular opinions thread and I've been itching to get this off my chest, so I really hope I didn't come off as too rude or offended anyone 😅

i dont really like the rescue accounts either, but we have to understand where theyre coming from. is it possible that they have the rescue account because thats theyre dream job and they really want to do it? cause most of us are too young for an actual job, so what if they are doing it to try to do what they just would love to do in real life? but i dont really like them either.

Nobody's saying the accounts need to stop existing. It's just an opinion. I personally don't have an issue with the accounts themselves, just the behaviour that often comes with them. Lots of it is actually not allowed within the game, as it turns out (eg. begging, repeatedly asking people to purchase their horses, etc.) so players have a good reason to be annoyed.

There's also a lot of guilting and shaming of other people's play styles that goes on. Making people feel bad for retiring horses early or not donating to rescue accounts. I've seen a few that are anti cross-breeding as well, and a LOT that bring serious real life issues into the game (neglect/abuse, anti-branding, etc.)

It gets incredibly frustrating.

@Eyvie I guess it's me you are talking about with anti branding. If so you are lying. I said that I didn't want horses bred by ME branded. If anyone else wants to brand their horses it's up to them.

Sadly I have to see your post although you are on my block list. I really hope they fix this problem so I never ever again have to read your lies.

Ria Sinclair I agree, some breeds have gotten just... very glossy. I don't think it's super realistic. I'm not looking forward to APH art getting updated bc I like them how they are. I think some breeds have been improved with the art updates but the chincos for instance look very strange to me.

Aleon, stop causing drama. We all saw the conversations. We all know you called it abuse. We all know you backtracked saying sometimes you brand them. We all know you are saying everyone is calling you a liar and other mean names which never happened. We all saw it. No one is spreading lies about you, so please just give it up.

As far as rescues, it can be someones dream job all they want but its still unfair to other players, especially new ones, to buy up all the rescues and then resell them at higher prices with no improvement on the horse. Its also annoying to everyone else, and against the rules, to be begging for people to buy their horses and give them money.

@Maki It's sad that you didn't read what I said but I can't force you so I guess you will continue to belive what you want to belive but please don't pretend that your view is the correct one and say that my post wasn't clear and exactly what I said above.
