Ok, so I've joined Horse Fable partially for the crossbreeding mechanics, and have been thinking about a Crossbreed Campaign in the fairly distant future. So far, I've decided to split my breeding project into 4 branches, A-D for each “grandparent”, with 4-8 breeds total. 

The CC goal is for a fairly tall, graceful horse of stock/light draft build that does well in endurance, intelligence, and power but is overall versatile, has a wide variety of coat and eye colors, and a lively but gentle temperament. It would also have a bit of a sky motif going on, so badger/reverse badger, star/large star, and crescent face marks are a plus, and so are birdcatcher spots and lacing.

My current settled-on breeds are Akhal-Teke for the shiny coat, endurance, speed, dom white, and leaner build, Marwari for the curled ears frame overo, and endurance, Irish Cob for mane thickness, feathering, pangare, pearl, and gentler temperament, and Mustang for endurance, multiple white spotting options including leopard complex, stock build, hardiness, and for grading extra colors (like manchado). The chosen breeds fill out the first two branches, so I have to decide which breeds will fill out branches C-D.

My list of contenders are:

• Clydesdale or Percheron, for height (Irish Cobs aren't big enough), intelligence, and power (only one will get picked)
• Paso Fino, for gait, mane quality, and tiger eye (I could grade this into other breeds, but it's a recessive allele whose gene doesn't show up on the DNA string, and the PF also has other good qualities)
• Appaloosa, for friendly temperament, an extra source for leopard complex (Mustang already covers this, but more can't hurt!), and an extra source of pearl (Irish Cob already covers this, but more can't hurt!)
• Quarter Horse, for flexibility, intelligence and speed
• American Paint, for more splash white patterns
• American Saddlebred, for versatility, power, its lean build, and a redundant source of champagne
• Thoroughbred for height and more KIT mutations (the extra alleles are all dominant though, so I can grade them to another breed)
• Arabian for the W3 KIT mutation (can be graded to another breed tho)
• Shetland pony for mushroom (can be graded to another breed tho, and also I'm iffy on a pony breed for the CC)

Tbh I want to limit this to 1-3 breeds. I'm already leaning towards Paso Fino and one of the above draft breeds, but maybe one more breed won't hurt. Which of the contenders do you think would be suitable for the project?
