why can't i use these horses in explore

okay so i have some horses i want specifically for explore/breeding.

i'm not entirely sure why they aren't showing up as options in explore. can someone please explain.
Is the box on their page for explore checked?
If you go to the horses and click to edit them there are 4 boxes that you can check to allow discipline shows, halter shows, explore, and careers. Make sure they have the boxes checked for explore, and save them with that checked. :)
