American Paint Horse, Image Change & Multi Markings!
Hello everyone and happy update day! We are pushing our update on a Thursday rather than closer to the weekend to ensure our new images are finished and ready for the weekend. We have been able to optimize load times and image load times across the site, fix a few bugs, and add quite a few exciting new things! Oh, we also welcome new American Paint Horse art!
๐ Breed Redo: American Paint Horse!
Today we release the v2 art for our American Paint Horse! Did you see our sneak peek on HoFa Socials? American Paint Horses now all have new art. These may take some time to load due to our new image system so be sure to clear your cache and refresh pages. ๐
๐ธ New Image System
We have moved horses into a new image system which has greatly improved site speed. This new image system pulls most horse images as a single layer rather than multiple layers. Each horse will have its image kept as a single layer which will be displayed on their page, in gene trees, and various other places across the site. Expect 24 to 48 hours for all images to fully flatten.
Variation Gene Testing
This change removed the ability to see layers thus, removed knowing variations. We have added gene variation testing to the vet gene test. This test reveals the variations of genes in the horses gene tab.
Layered Images
Several places around the site will keep images layered. These include the Design Lab, wild horses, and previewer.
๐ด NEW: Multiple Markings!
With our new image system we are able to do something previously thought impossible, multiple markings! Now, horses can have several markings per face, body, or leg location. Your dream star snip face markings are now a reality! With this multi marking option we have made several changes to design lab, foundation, and breeding:
Breed Coins: 1 marking per face/body/leg location
Magic Token: 2 markings per face/body/leg location
Spectral Token: : 3 markings per face/body/leg location
Chincoteague Coin: : 3 markings per face/body/leg location
Foundation Store: Max 2 markings on face only.
Wild Horses: 3 markings per face/body/leg location
Breeding: All markings are able to pass at the usual rate. Note: We have fixed a bug where leg markings were not passing at a high enough rate as they should. You should see leg markings pass and generate at random more often while breeding.

I love the the Percherons the way they are now, I hope they don't change too much in the new v2 art!!
@Tsukiko, that is a good question! Harlequin Warmbloods are a 50% Appaloosa/50% Percheron light draft cross. Sugarbushes are a 75% Percheron/25% Appaloosa heavy draft cross. To make a Sugarbush, you cross a Harlequin Warmblood with a Percheron :)
Iโm incredibly grateful for all the kind messages. ๐ While Iโm no longer serving as Community Manager, Iโll still be here! HoFa has meant a lot to me, and Iโm excited to keep being part of this community. โบ๏ธ

I have an odd question. If the horse has a hidden variant, will it still show up in the variants section of the genes? Then alsoโฆ will it say that it's hidden?
