Hello everyone and happy almost July! Today we have a very, very large update pertaining to all of our sales pages in the Auction House, Marketplace, Stud/Brood Market, and Search. This update incorporates a lot of player requests and QoL changes as well as adds quite a few new sales options! You will notice our Market dropdown has a few fewer links in it.

We have incorporated several of our sales pages into two pages. First, the Auction House has been revamped and has new sales options added. Second, the Marketplace has also been condensed and cleaned up. Third, the Stud/Brood Market and main Search got an upgrade as well! However we must first celebrate….

🌞 Summer Solstice!

Summer has arrived in HoFa which means Hoofbeat Plains is enjoying a heat wave and has welcomed back our summer items! The Summer Solstice dyes are available in Hoofbeat Plains until September 22, 2026. The dyes include: Bubble Gum, Sunburn, Neon Green, Electric Purple, Teal, Sky Blue, and Cobalt Blue!

With the prevalence of dyes and the need to remove a few explore items to make room for more, colored roses are no longer found in Hoofbeat Plains. Now, only White Roses can be found which can be dyed in your Craft Room using any dye you have.

🪙 NEW Auction House

The auction house has been expanded and had many QoL and player requests added. The new Auction House now has:

• NEW Item Auctions: You can now auction items
• NEW Freezer Item Auctions: You can now also auction off freezer items. This also shows straw/egg/embryo quality % when adding to or viewing the auction.
• NEW Item Auction Total: With the addition of items to auctions, you can now offer multiple horses, items, and freezer items to auctions. For Basic and Bronze players the cap is 25, Gold has a cap of 100, and Platinum is capped at 200.
• NEW Bit Auctions: You can now put bits up for bid.
• NEW Ingot Auctions: You can now put ingots up for bid.
• NEW Filters: You can now filter auctions by type, bid currency, item, and general horse search.
• NEW Advanced Search: An advanced search has been added so you can now search by breed, gender, min/max price, min/max level, min/max PS, min TB, and genes.

Auction Creation Changes

We have made changes to the auction creation view to better see what you are offering as well as add more auction options. Our changes are:

• Auction Settings and Details: All of the auction settings and details have been added to the bottom of the page.
• To reduce confusion, new details about reserve and autobuys have been added as well as a dynamic button selection of these.
• Player Request: You can now watch an auction.
• Player Request: You can now view the auction endtime in game time under the time selection bar.
• Player Request: You can now set a minimum bid increase which automatically makes the next bid +minimum bid increase. Ex. +50 min. increase has the players bid options automatically +50 from the current bid. This is displayed below the bid box.
• Horses: When offering a horse an image with horse info is displayed once the horse is added to your auction.

Other QoL Changes

• Horse Auctions: Horse auctions now have more info on the main and auction page. You can see: age, breed, gender, PS, BS, Level, TB, color and revealed DNA gene strings (hover). This is also displayed on the auctions page.
• Player Request: You can now cancel an auction you own which notifies all bidders and watchers.
• Player Request: Horses bought at auction now show in their history their auction sales purchase price, link to auction, and who it was purchased from.
• Player Request: Added ability to search by breed %. This does not have to add up to 100%. Ex. You can search just 50% Arabian
• Horses cannot be used for any type of breeding when in auction or trade. Ex. straw/egg retrieval, breeding grounds, stud/brood requests.

⚖️ NEW Marketplace

The Marketplace has also had a huge overhaul. The Marketplace now is a one stop shop for all horse, item, freezer item, bit, and ingot sales. We have done our best to incorporate all of our player requests as well as add new QoL changes. We have new additions:

• NEW Advanced Horse Search: A new advanced search has been added to search horses by breed, gender, min/max price, min/max level, min/max PS, min TB, and genes.
• NEW Filters: You can now filter by sale type Ex. Horses, items etc.
• NEW Item Search: You can search for a specific item by typing part of its name into the item search bar. This populates any trade that has that item in it.
• NEW Bit/Ingot Search: You can now more easily search for bits or ingots for sale.

Horse Sales

• Horses now have more in-depth info on the main search page and on a sales page.
• Horses for auto-buy only and put up for sale from their page/mass actions link to the horses page.
• Horses put up for sale from the Marketplace trade creation will populate a trade page with the horse info on it. This allows you to put a horse up in the market and be open to offers or sell for both bit and ingots.
• When adding a horse to a market trade, the horse info populates when added to the trade.
• A gene string hover has been added for horses with DNA revealed.
• Player Request: Added ability to search by breed %. This does not have to add up to 100%. Ex. You can search just 50% Arabian

Freezer Items

Freezer items also have a nice QoL upgrade! We have added:

• Quality % to freezer items while adding them to a trade, while viewing a trade, and on the main marketplace page.
• You can now search for freezer items in the marketplace. Note: This currently doesn’t allow for searching by breed, color etc. 

Other QoL Changes

We also have added several other QoL changes based on all of the current plate requests pertaining to sales and auctions. We have added:

• Marketplace: For Platinum subscribers, you can now buy a marketplace trade directly from the main marketplace page. A “Purchase” button appears under the bit/ingot price
• Player Request: The “Open to Offers” box now shows/hides based on selecting the box.
• Player Request: You can now select what you are “Open to Offers” to. Selecting one or multiple of these limited players to what they can offer. Ex. Selecting Ingots and Horses they can only offer ingots and/or horses.
• Player Request: Notifications have been added when you get an offer on a trade or a trade offer has been accepted.
• Player Request: Notification has been removed for “A new offer…” if you are the one who made the offer.
• Player Request: There is now a tab for “My Offers” where you can see trades you have offered on. The “My Trades” shows only your active trades including ISO trades.
• Player Request: Ended sales are displayed on the “My Trades” page.
• Some visual changes have been added when creating a trade so the page looks less cramped.
• Player Request: When a trade is bought the page now shows who purchased and for how much.
• Player Request: Horses that were up for stud/brood are removed from stud/brood once bought.
• Player Request: A “Exclude My Sales” button now excludes your own sales when searching.
• The creation page is more dynamic when selecting the currency to sell a trade for. Selecting the currency type now shows/hides the input box as needed.
• On your own trade pages you can now see what currency and total you listed the trade for.
• On trades with multiple items, this is no longer a long list. This is simplified and now has the item image and total of that item in the trade. Hovering over the image gives the item description and number of uses.
• The word “Money” has been replaced with “Bits” for all inputs and headers.
• You can search by “Open to Offers” only.

🐎Stud/Brood Market Changes

The Stud/Brood Market now has more information listed and an advanced search added when looking for studs and broods. This is the same search as the Auction House and Marketplace pages. 

• Added detailed searches for PS, TB, and levels
• Added ability to search by breed %. This does not have to add up to 100%. Ex. You can search just 50% Arabian,12.5% Clydesdale, or 75% Mustang etc.

❤️ Rescue Changes

The rescue now has a breed and advanced filter! You can now search by breed, gender, age, min/max level, pure/grades, and genes.

✨ Campaign Completion Change

To better help with competition % in campaigns, we have updated the completion % calculation. Now, 10 mares and 10 stallions per generation count toward your campaign completion %. In total, 60 horses will count toward your completion % at 0.833% per submitted. The completion % for all campaigns has been updated. Note: Our previous news deadline is still in effect. Any crossbreed campaign that began between 1/1/2021 and 7/1/2024 with <10% overall completion will be removed on July 8, 2026.

☀️ Summer Classic Results!

We welcomed a new fun competition to our forums this month, The Summer Classic! The competition had players capture Knabstuppers in the wilds, send them to be randomly assigned to another entrant for training, and a race was simulated to find our winners. Congrats to the winners: Yello Yogi, Ride The Lightning and Lavender Haze!

🐴 Upcoming: Breed Art Changes

This is a note for everyone that we will soon be transitioning all of our generics bases to v2 art. As announced previously, once we do this we will be moving all v1 art breeds to generic art until we have their bases complete. Our timeline for new art completion is fully decided based on HoFas income which makes giving specific dates of art completions difficult. We will be working with the community to vote on what bases to complete next. We currently have a backlog of complete greyscale bases pending coloring and tack before we upload them which are slowly being worked on as budget allows. We suggest you begin taking any screenshots of your favorite v1 art now so you will not feel rushed later. We will give a 1-week notice prior to our full transition to v2 art.

👍 Player Requests

As a reminder, we have a player request feature for everyone to submit game changes and ideas. To help organize this huge list, we will be going through and rejecting any idea with more downvotes than upvotes, that are >2 months old, and have <4 comments. 

Some ideas have good discussions and need more vote input. We currently need votes up or down for this player idea before implementing it along with our auction changes. Additionally, be sure to have votes on topics by July 30! We will be reviewing and making changes based on our top requests.

📝 Next Update

We’ve had a very large update pushed for this week which means we will be taking a long break to collect ourselves. We expect our next update sometime in July. If you wish to support HoFas development, 100% of all income goes toward code, art, and HoFa needs! Ingot purchases, new subscriptions or buying items at the merch store all go toward our HoFa work.
