Help. White coat horses??

Can someone just explain white coat horses? Is the white coat colour a dominant gene when breeding or something? Do their undisplayed genes still pass? Thanks.

White is a dominant gene and depending on which W# you have depends on what it is displayed as. All genes pass as normal but often don't show in color or color name due to the white gene.
