Bug Fixes, Dun Changes & Color Update!
Hello everyone and happy weekend! Today we have several bug updates, changes to the dun gene, and an update on re-colors.
๐๏ธ Base Re-Colors
We are working through re-coloring all of our bases to the more vibrant and rich colors. We expect to have several breeds currently in-game completed by our next update.
๐ด Dun Changes
We have updated the dun gene layering and naming system to completely remove all past dun bugs. Dun has been a problem gene for awhile with issues with naming and layering. Now, dun has been updated and recoded to be:
- D gene: This gene is still the dilution gene which dilutes the base coat and adds primitive markings. Several color names were updated due to new layering and us moving toward adding more specific color names. This now layers on top of all bases and adds the dun layer. This means more hues of dun are now in-game!
- nd1 gene: nd1 is non-dun but displays the primitive markings. This prior would add โDunโ at the end of color names. Due to not being truly dun but creating primitive marks, this has been renamed to โPrimitive [Base color]โ. For example, a Light Chestnut horse with nd1nd1 will be Primitive Light Chestnut. This layer is in the works to be adjusted to be less solid black and adjust based on base color similar to how the D layering adds more hues.
- nd2 gene: This is non-dun2 which means your horse has no dun gene. This is the same and no dun layers will display.
๐ฆ Bug Fixes
- Grade breeds should now properly pull the grade art in a variety of situations. Previously some random situations caused some horses to pull the new generic art and others not.
- Calico naming and layering should be fixed for those lucky horses who have To + Cr genes. Calico happens in a very small % of horses and is rare to discover.
- Fixed an issue with old vs new art pulling in the design lab.
- W20 horses with G genes should now properly grey out and display a correct color name. This has been fixed in a wide variety of places.
- Fixed an issue with reverse dapple not displaying properly. ***We highly suggest you go check all your horses for reverse dapple as the layer was not properly working and thus, not displaying!***
- Fixed problems with polos in the previewer. What a pesky little bug!
- A fix was attempted for frozen horses who aren't frozen when transferred into a tab. These should now properly freeze in every scenario when transferred into a frozen tab. ***We were unable to find code issues that cause frozen horses aging and need more detailed and real-time examples of this.***
- Fixed an issue with negative boarding passes.
- A variety of bugs associated with dun, tobiano, and grey have been fixed.
- Fixed rouge Halloween items appearing across the site.
- Spectral and Chincoteague tokens now work to allow you to select variations when used from your storage room.
- Fixed issues with deleting career centers leaving the ability to keep using the career center.
We have a variety of changes we are working on for campaigns and clubs. Some changes for halter shows for 1-3* campaign breeds are coming along with fixes to the issue for entering from horse page vs. halter page.
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Cheers,
Curly, Roze, ERA & beni
Thanks for all the work

Yay!
Love the dun fixes. It actually drove me crazy that nd1 made the horses listed as dun. lol.
Now I need to go look over all my horses

Thank you for the exciting updates! I am definitely looking forward to seeing what you have in mind for the lower starred campaign horses! ๐

heads-up that "primitive" is only showing up for newly created horses, as in ones born or created after the update. not sure if this is intentional.
this also could be happening to reverse dapple horses too, can anyone confirm that they have a reverse dapple that was born before this update?

๐Thank you for the work!
