It can be really tricky to get started! (Editing to say definitely read Maki’s guide, it’s very comprehensive!).

There are a couple of options:

1. Have horses participate in shows or careers. Many players recommend careers to get started, because they don’t cost anything to do (unlike shows which have an entry fee).

2. Sell items you collect - dyes, gems, treats.

3. Breed high quality horses and level them up. These can be sold or put up for stud/brood. You’ll want to aim for a minimum level of 50 for this, but higher is better!

It can be really grindy in the beginning, especially if you don’t have many horses. When I first started, I had the most luck by selling wild horses that I caught - these often sell really well in auctions. If you want to look at this method:

1. Keep a few horses you use just for explore everyday (don’t use their energy for shows or careers).

2. Don’t bother collecting roses, dyes (unless you really want the colour) or lassos. Always collect whistles and treats.

3. Save your treats if you can. They work better if you craft them into sweet treats (you can even use a cookbook to double the output of cooked treats for 24 hours, but this is a premium item).

4. Keep an eye out for rare or interesting horses and use your treats on them. Tekes and Marwaris can only be found on certain days and Dutch Warmbloods hardly ever show up as wilds.
