Foal born needs genes might need looked at?

Both parents are not roan and the foal is roan. All three don't show roan on gene list wondering if it needs fixed?

when the leopard (Lp) gene isn't activated by a pattern gene (Patn1 and/or Patn2), it expresses as varnish roan! it looks like the sire and dam didn't pass any of their patn genes for this foal.
