Horse Fable Has a New Owner
Dear Horse Fable community,
After over a decade of building, dreaming, debugging, pixel-perfect tweaking, and late-night brainstorming sessions, it’s time for a new chapter.
I’ve officially sold Horse Fable to Curly.
Over the next week, we’ll be transitioning all of the technical and backend pieces, including the server, domain, databases, and accounts, into her name. This means there may be some downtime or slower responses as we work through the handoff. Please bear with us during this transition.
A Bittersweet Goodbye
If you’ve followed Horse Fable’s journey over the years, you know this project has been a huge part of my life. It started as a passion project and grew into a full-fledged game with a loyal, creative, and sometimes chaotic (in the best way) community. It has definitely had its ups and downs, but it will always hold a place in my heart.
This decision wasn’t made lightly, and it’s bittersweet. Many of you called it – I needed to let go of Horse Fable. I wasn’t ready at the time, but I’ve now accepted that this chapter has come to an end for me.
Curly and I have worked closely together over the years to bring the best game possible. Looking back over the years, it was a fun time building this world for you all. When all the drama went down earlier this summer, it may seem like we weren’t on the best of terms, but that’s not true. We always had the mutual goal of creating the best horse game on the market.
I want to be crystal clear: I only want what’s best for this game.
And I truly believe Curly is the right person to take Horse Fable into the future. She has the experience, the love for the game, and the community’s trust. She’s been a huge part of the HoFa team for a long time, and I’m confident she’ll give it the care and leadership it needs moving forward.
What’s Next?
Over the next few days, we’ll be:
- Moving hosting and server access to Curly’s accounts
- Transferring ownership of domains, emails, art assets, and IP
- Reorganizing payment systems and billing platforms
- Ensuring all tools are fully operational in the new setup
You may notice temporary delays or some downtime, but the goal is to keep disruption minimal and keep the game safe and secure during the transition.
Final Thoughts
To the players, artists, mods, testers— thank you. Horse Fable wouldn’t be what it is today without your contributions, feedback, and support. It’s been an incredible journey.
While I’ll be stepping away from the game itself, I’ll always cheer for its success from afar. I want nothing more than to see it thrive and evolve under Curly’s direction.
So here’s to the next adventure… for Horse Fable, and for all of us.
With appreciation and nostalgia,
Bedouin
Thank you! This is so exciting, I hope this change makes things better for everyone involved. Excited to see what happens next!
I agree with Oaken Fields, that you should come back as just a player to be free to relax and enjoy the masterpiece created here.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised that it came to this. I do think that for the good of the game this was the best choice possible. Thank you for making this decision because I truly think that Curly can devote the time needed to really get HoFa back to where it needs to be, and to take the game into the future.
I'll be happy to come back to the game now that I KNOW that bug fixes and updates will be more reliable.
That was the best news in a very long time! You caused the drama. No one else. I really hope that all the old players and the mods will return. Welcome back, Curly (and the team?)

Thank you for making the right decision. Sometimes it can be hard to give up something we love to someone else. However, if Curly has shown anything, is that they have the will-power and knowledge to take this game into the future. Again, thank you for creating this game and making the right call for its future moving forward.
Thank you, Bedouin, for making the right choice. I am excited to see what Curly does with the game in the future. :)

This is great news! Curly, congrats on acquiring HF and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us! Bedouin, I wish you the best and I hope this feels like a huge weight lifted off your shoulders - spreading yourself so thin couldn't have been good for your mental. Thank you for the work you've done over the years.

Thank you for the update, Bedouin! I totally understand you needing time to come to that decision and I do think that it will help relieve pressure off of you and your other businesses. I'm excited to see how the game progresses and wish you the best for the future! Hope you do come back as a player sometime. ^_^
