I want to share a quick update on where things stand with HoFa and what’s next.
First, I want to acknowledge what many of you are feeling. Curly, Roze, and ERA have poured years of passion into this game and were deeply loved by the community. Their efforts brought art, planning, moderation, and heart to HoFa in ways that shaped its identity - and I understand how their departure has left many feeling hurt and uncertain. That legacy deserves recognition and respect.
That said, I want to clarify a clear misconception that players seem to have - I’ve quietly handled much of HoFa’s development and operations myself from the beginning. From coding and game design to news posts and financials, I’ve been deeply involved behind the scenes, even when I wasn’t as active publicly. I’ve had a hand in almost every process and while it’s definitely been a week of getting organized with files and art, there is nothing the team is not still capable of completing.
While 2025 has brought some challenges, development is still moving forward. I’ve been focused on bug fixes, cleaning up systems, and planning next steps with help from Thunderbolt, Brumby, and others who’ve chosen to stay.
Please note that new item art will be on pause for the next couple of months so we can prioritize dev work, but horse art will continue since there are still campaigns and breed redos to complete. If you want to keep track of what’s coming, here is the list of breed art.
Lastly, HoFa is not for sale. We’re still building. And for those sticking around - thank you. Your support means a lot, and I hope what comes next earns your trust.
🐴 National Show Horse
Today we release the National Show Horse breed art. The breed is a 50/50 cross between American Saddlebred and Arabian. The club is currently public for membership joins and has a total of 130 members. A big congratulations to the newest player made breed!

I’ve started reviewing the list of feature requests. Those that are approved will show on the Road Map under Planned. Those under consideration will show in the Under Review column. If I have plans to add a feature request into the next update, it will show under In Progress. Once there are less bug reports, I’ll start sprinkling these in.
🦟 Bug Fixes
As always, if a bug pops back up, please go in and mark it as Fix Failed. This puts us down to 124 bugs. 🎉
- Bug #1494 - Branding foals now work for private breedings.
- Bug #1461 - Equipped items should no longer be counted in mass equip.
- Bug #1504 - Miniature appaloosa campaign should now be able to accept new horses.
- Bug #1220 - Wild horses should no longer change coat patterns after being caught.
- Bug #1132 - The breed filter in the auction house should now work on pages 2+.
- Bug #1292 - Crossbreeds should now calculate BV correctly in herd management if the BV for all parent breeds are defined.
- Bug #1585 - Premium mane serum should now work.
- Bug #1174 - You should no longer receive the “You don’t own these horses” when trying to enter horses into halter shows.
- Bug #845 - You should no longer be able to go into negative stalls.
- Bug #1182 - Fixes were put into place for gen 3 campaign submissions.
- Bug #1323 - Expired quests should no longer be available to complete.
- Bug #1469 - Frozen foals should no longer age.

We have moved dev updates to Saturdays. Next updates scheduled for:
- June 21 - very small update, will be traveling
- June 28 - no update, I will be at an event
- July 5 - larger update to catch up
- July 12
- July 19

I can say for all, that we do genuinely appreciate the update; the art and the bug fixes. but at the same time, you’ve lost major players. I’ve been here for I think 2 years? so I’m still quite new in comparison to these older players. but it’s such a shame to see that the updates are happening only due to recent events.
bed, youre the only one on the team. you cant do it all; thats why you had staff. you NEED staff. but you’ve broken trust, and not many want to work with you due to that. the nsh has so many broken things about it, and it was still released (mane & tails missing, color & patterns aren’t showing up on the horses properly, tack may not be working on them). there’s so much wrong with this update that I’m afraid is gonna make more bug reports; that you will have to fix and you only.
Thank you for the update and the acknowledgement that there is much hurt and uncertainty happening right now. I appreciate the work on the bugs and hope that progress is made in the future as well. :)

As someone that has been here for 2 entire years (nothing next to the ogs, but that’s a lot of time for me) BULLSHIT BEDOUIN!
The fact I have stayed, DOES NOT MEAN THAT I SUPPORT YOU.
I still can’t barely believe that this has happened, but I can believe Bedouin had lied. Over, and over and over and over again.
Bedouin since your not selling the game I’m thinking of pulling the plug, I do not wish to be apart of this shit show, I may stick around for alittle bit but, KNOW THAT I DO NOT SUPPORT BEDOUIN! AT ALL!
To my friends over the past years thank you, you will be missed, and extra credit and love to Maki, thank you for all the tip tricks, help and art along the way. 💖

Hoping bugs can be re-looked at again, the ones that the fixes didn't work ^^
So sad seeing all of this drama from a game that seems so fun and unique. I came here after getting fed up with Howrse, just to see internal struggles here. I admit that I have not been here long enough to fully understand what's going on with you and your staff, but if you admit to being gone and have had your staff walk out and then kick you from your own game's discord server, it's rather obvious your incompetence as an Admin. I am hoping that you stick to your word and do not sink this website.
@Roelian, if you look at Kentucky's post, this is pretty much what the good chunk of us players have been dealing with long before HorseFable became a thing, back when it was known as Eqcetera. So in of itself a nutshell, it's been going on for 12 years and counting.
I've only been here a couple of months and seeing the state of the game's team I think I'm going to leave. This game is great and has so much potential with unique features that help build a strong community. This is no hate towards the art team who I've seen slaving to give us new artworks for all these breeds, you guys are absolute heroes and your art is gold !
I've only been here since like october (?) last year but I really enjoyed this community. Bed, please continue the updates and putting in consistent effort. I know we are all up in arms, but that is because this community really does deserve the best. We are extremely underrepresented in the gaming community and you have the opportunity to make real change. Continue the updates. Continue with the honesty and transparency and next time, do not let it escalate to the point that most of the team quits. From one project manager and business owner to another, it is HARD, I see you and I understand that things can slip through the cracks. But leaving things go for longer than 6 months, and in some instances up to two years, is the textbook definition of abandonment. Learn from this and continue to grow the platform that you have built.
