New Question, What do the stars next to the horse's name mean?

Rylee Walstad [Bronze || 31 posts] on 4/10/2025 8:59 pm

How can a user tell how well a horse did in a halter show? Is there a placing system? It would be nice to know how well my horses are doing in the halter shows they are in.

NEW QUESTION
What do the stars next to the horse's name mean? I assume more stars are better but in what regard?

if you go to their page and click the clock icon under their image, you should be able to see their halter results as well as any discipline or career results

The stars are in relation to their stats - like your Duches has four stars, which is related to her four excellent and two good stats.

Each breed has their own breed standards for what numbers fall into excellent/good/etc and how far off your horse is goes into the breed variance and where they fall into the stars range.  This wiki goes into quite a bit of detail:  https://horsefable.wiki/breed-standards/

Thank you for explaining that. I was seeing some correlation between the breed type/standard with the stars. I think it would be cool if it not only accounted for the horses tho but also the ps.
I learned that some of my horses have pretty good type but not a lot of ps.

PS doesnt serve a purpose for halter, its not judged on skills but conformation. PS is only for discipline shows. There would be no way to have PS take any effect into halter shows. It makes more sense for stars to figure in confirmation than it does performance skills.

Oh I had thought I had read on the guide that PS does affect the outcome of the show, specifically to select which horse is better when they have the same type.
I guess itโ€™s a bit confusing because Horse Ponts are listed under Horse Benefits under the horseโ†’Showing tab.
Itโ€™s not specific whether it only applies to the discipline path or the halter path so I assumed it was for both.

Iโ€™m reading the guide again and I see that horse points and ps are different.
I am also seeing that skill affects halter shows. What is skill? And how is it measured? I assumed that PS was one of the skill measurements.

PS is performance stats. That is their stats in each stat if you look under the graph or third button on the horses page.

Skills then are under that which is usually used in career but is what a small percentage is taken for halter.

And stars are just for the breed variance from perfection of the breed.

Points are just points until the next level, found on their main page under achievements

I found it! Haha thank you Maki for being so helpful.
I see that skills are built with the career and attending halter shows.
learning how to read documentation has always been one of my slower skills.

Sorry I edited like a million times going back and forth while trying to get dressed and handling a puppy ๐Ÿ˜…

But points and levels is a good thing to look at and should be priority with horses and breeding. Its why its recomended to wait until at least level 50 to breed. High TB can help a lot

Thank you so much. Oof I have a 5 star goal that I am unsure about its level. Hopefully I can get the numbers up and produce another 5 star haha.

So I guess I should career my horses out until they are higher level? Or is it best to sort out which have the better personality then those who do not have the personality have them compete in shows? Or is it best/safest to just career all the horses out until they are higher level? I have some with okay ps and good type but I see my levels are low and I have not fully assessed the personalities.
Maybe those with poor personality and type I use for riding and exploring?
