Welcome Everyone,

One of my favorite things about breeding sims is the custom art.
I, myself, am a digital artist and I would love to offer my services. I do have some ground rules.

RULES:
- I really dislike that I have to say this here, but I am getting a lot of responses talking about it, DO NOT post about my price. I accept trades, but the price is the price. I understand this is not a big art community, and that's okay. I am not in a rush to sell anything. This is my hobby, and I wanted to offer my art for the same price that people have been paying for it for about 5 years now. Thank you for your concern. Please don't harass other artists about their asking prices. We are people too, and art does take time from our lives that we will never get back just so we can make something for you.
-Be kind to me and other players. This is a must. I will not tolerate any kind of rude behavior on this forum.
-Ask any questions you may have before placing your order. You may do this publicly on the forum or personally through a message to me.
-Please fill out the forum of the order you would like to make fully, giving as much detail as possible about your character and what you would like to see.
(Provide a reference sheet if possible with clear colors and attributes.)
-Please send payment as soon as you post your order. You can pay me Via Ingots on Horse Fable or USD through Paypal.

MY PROCEDURE:
This is a little walkthrough of what to expect when ordering an image from me.
Once you have placed your order and sent payment, I will add your name to my slots and begin working on your order.
I will draw up a simple concept sketch in thumbnail form (150px x 150px) and send it to you for approval. If you like the sketch, I will begin working on the second sketch and line work (expect a few changes to the original sketch but over-all design will stay the same.)
*Note if you do not like the sketch I will attempt 2 more sketches of your image. If you are not satisfied after those 2 sketches I will cancel your order or you can buy more sketches at 1 USD a piece.

***Player that pay in bits will not receive any sketches due to the low cost of the artwork***

Once I finish your image I will send it one last time to you with a watermark for your approval. Once approved I will accept your payment and post your final image to the forum for pick up.
*Note, I will make one change to the final image if so desired before accepting payment, no other changes will be made after that.

*Any customer failing to send payment will be skipped.
*Any customer who cancels payment during the working process will have their image put on hold until payment is resent.

I’m not pointing fingers and saying anyone should get in trouble. My point is that many players came to the form and shared that they feel that the cost should be less because of one reason or the next. I do not believe this is a healthy way for a site to facilitate an art sales form. There will always be someone who thinks the price is too much or that they cannot afford it. That’s okay if that’s the case but it doesn’t mean that it’s okay to go on someone art sales form and discuss the price. I would have much more preferred a private message as the purpose of this form is to sell the art not discuss its price.

i do agree it's not appropriate to have this conversation on the public forums and i'm sorry for my part in continuing it. i care a lot about this community and just wanted to help but i can understand that maybe i shouldn't have.

Hey no worries. Thank you for continuing to be kind throughout the conversation. It is my hope that I don’t have a negative effect on the community here. On another site I play, the main thing that keeps me coming back is the kind community. It just feels like a fun and safe place to be. I don’t mind having discussions in appropriate spaces and I hope the site finds a healthy way to balance not only the use of the forums but the horse stock and economy as well. So far I really like the site and I have been trying my best to only produce responsibly.
I am open to any friendly personal messages with links to forms if anyone wants to continue a friendly general conversation about why they like the site.

Apologies if I made you feel pressured, that's not what I intended at all. I hope you get some art sales in the future (and you're right, it probably wasn't the best idea to argue on your art forum, again, apologies).

I'm a little late to discussion, and I understand you no longer want critique on sales so I just say this..

Normally I go into sim websites that DON'T allow sales for real currency with the expectations of it just being for fun and for fake currency that have technically no value in real money :P You have very cute artwork that no doubt is worth $15USD+ for custom stuff, unfortunately they don't allow USD sales :( (ngl I wish they did! haha) I just think usually conversion of real money to any sort of rl money based credit/point/in our case, ingot based system, these are always worth less then real money. I find it's always been this way and I understand the “breaking the norm” for this sort of thing.. I've been around for many many deviantart point sales that sort of mess with the value of art lol.. it is what it is.. but I unfortunately don't think there's enough players on certain games to drive what the economy in as far as conversions as of now ^^ That's just my thoughts..

Just keep in mind, I normally charge $35USD+ for what you are currently offering. I don't get a lot of bites on my sales but freelance art isn't my full time job either. So any commissions I do get is a bonus and appreciated greatly anytime. Plus, I can't offer my rl money sales here so I offer a “lower portion” of what I can do for what I think is fair for a sim game. My commissions are always a million times more thought out/detail oriented so it makes the money worth it for custom work with real money. SO, in the end of my small discussion, I do suggest, if you'd like to take custom commissions, if you want real money only, just stick to DeviantArt or lower your prices here just until your name is a little more established. Or just lower prices to accomodate the community a little bit more since there isn't a huuuge market for art just yet :P Again, this is my thoughts. I've been selling digital art on sim games since 2007 so it's been a long time of me doing this lol so I thought I might share a little bit of info I have found out as I sell art c: I wish you the best of luck obviously!! Hoping economy here booms soon and gets super busy of course. As for me selling art, I'm just pricing my sales a lil cheaper for now as what I think they're worth c: If you ever wanna talk digital art though, feel free to message me! :D Again, sorry it sounds like I'm hi-jacking. I'm trying not to. BUT Because this thread has gotten a lot of traction on cost/value etc. I personally would suggest perhaps making a new post with “brand new” prices, “brand new” art, “brand new” vibes for the buyers haha! (by brand new I just mean just keep it fancy like you did lol)

Hey Siren8,

I just read the art sales rules and I do not see any rules about not selling in USD. Care to share? All the assets in my art is my own, thus, on must sites I’ve been on, I can sell/trade it for anything I want; real world or not.

Jesus Christ. Sorry I interjected. I believe I read somewhere on the site rules when I was looking into it that USD sales aren’t allowed..

You’re not going to make sales with having attitude like that when someone is trying to help unfortunately, just letting you know. I wish you the best, again.. :/ yikes

I'm sorry you took my tone as an attitude. There was not one. I was simply asking about the rule and stating what I know about sites like this.
I also apologize for getting your username wrong. I was hopping in bed when I saw your form post.
As for selling my art. I personally don't really care if it sells or not. This is what I ask for it, this is what has been payed by over 50 other people on other sites. I do not feel comfortable asking for a different price for what others have already paid for. One day I may offer some adoptable tags for cheaper but at this moment I am not.
