Apples and Carrots

Hi where can you find apples and carrots ? I need these items for a quest but I don't know where to find them while exploring and there aren't any at the market.
Exploring is the only way to find them and if the quest indicates you need to find them in explore then buying them in the market wont work
The apple quest doesn't specify just the carrots. But is there a spot where the odds of finding them are better ?
no, you just find them randomly in the hoofbeat plains
