I remember this being discussed in Discord semi recently and a user got confused saying no, when in fact you do and I even tested it out as well. 

I believe I destroyed one of my extra large barns that cost 20k and I got 10k back though. I did have a few more buildings in the past, non stalls, but it's been too long since I removed them and converted to straight up stalls but regardless, you do get some of the bits  back and 100% the land.

What if you demolish the smaller feed and water containers? I know you won't get acres back but will it affect the number of food and water you can have?

So, I removed a Bucket that was 0 acres but I still had 1000 feed, I went in and bought it back to be on the safe side.

I swore I did have a minor issue like this beforehand but maybe it is for the ones that cost acres only? Perhaps someone could come in and clarify but I kept almost all the upgrades up for feed/water storage to be on the safe side, even if it does take up 0 acres.

As I pretty much run on feed/water for storage and straight up stalls anymore and try not to demolish that stuff.
