under the Explore tab, you can find horses in the Hoofbeat Plains. you'll need horses in order to explore the plains and can encounter something for every step your horse takes (each step = 2% of their energy). you can find wild horses and also items and quests. each time you pick up an item, try to catch a wild horse, or pick up a quest, you'll lose 5% of your player energy (seen under your level bar at the top).

when you encounter a wild horse you can pet them (10% player energy), feed a treat to increase trust, or use a lasso/whistle. you can find treats/lassos/whistles from just exploring the plains. when the trust bar over the wild horse reaches 75% or more, you can call them over. or you can use whistles to instantly call the horse over without building trust though this can make them run away instead.
