Not much at the moment. Just kinda marks your horse. I am hoping eventually they add the option to search by brand though

It does serve a function actually, if you brand a horse it'll contain a link to your stables in its name, which no one can remove. So if you want people to know which horses you bred/caught/made custom, it's good advertising!

You're welcome! You don't have to brand your horses, but I always do out of habit now.

The downside to not branding your horses is that if you ever sell them or give them away, the person who gets them can brand on the horse.
