Horse Skeleton Paint not showing

I have equipped skeleton paint to 3 or 4 of my horses and the paint only shows up in the equipper. Ex: I just equipped white skeleton paint to this horse -> Hennie's Mr Rebel but the skeleton wont show on his information page. Can anyone explain why? Is it just a glitch?
