G3 demoted to G1?

I had a foal I've since gotten rid of that was G3, but then one of its parents died. I tend to freeze G3s, but do I need to freeze their G2 parents too to prevent this sort of thing?
You don't need to freeze the g3, g2 or g1. Horses will remain in their generations regardless if their parents or even themselves retire.
