Campaign Updates & Delays

10/03/2024 7:28 am

Hello everyone! We are here to give some updates on the campaign art progress and current timelines and very unfortunately…possible delays.

๐Ÿด Campaign Art Update

Currently, Thunderbolt is working very very hard to get sketches, edits, and greyscales done for all crossbreed campaigns. We have 6 of 7 campaigns with sketches posted with the 7th to be begun once our first greyscale is finished. Our current list is:

- Appalachian Mountain Horse (Greyscale phase)

- Brumbian (Sketch phase 2)

- Walkaloosa (Sketch phase 2)

- National Show Horse (Sketch phase 1, moving to 2)

- Pintaloosa (Sketch phase 1)

- Cobblestan (Sketch phase 1)

- Cobian (Forum to be posted)

We are working hard to get these done as well as get a few other breeds completed as well! ๐Ÿ‘€

How about a peek at the in-progress draft of Appalachian Mountain Horses? ๐Ÿ˜œ

๐Ÿ“‹ Delays in Progress

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I, Curly, have to step away from HoFa for some time. As many know, the Appalachian region of GA, Western NC, Eastern TN, and Southwest VA have been devastated by Hurricane Helene. I have spent my whole life in Western NC and East TN and am a proud born and raised Appalachian. The communities that raised me are currently beyond devastated by what has happened and are having to pull on every possible resource to be able to begin search and rescue efforts, restore water and power, and clean up our homes. I cannot in any way express in words the magnitude of what has happened, how it feels, or offer very much in the way of comfort.

My and my husband's families are safe and have been able to find shelter in our hometown with access to what they need. We are extremely fortunate to not only have contact with our loved ones but to have missed Helene's damage to our own new home in FL as well. What is left of our home county is unbelievable, unrecognizable, and soul crushing. Currently, many efforts are being made to first restore power, get to everyone trapped in the mountain, and collect as many donations as possible. Supplies are being delivered via horseback, mule, ATV, and airdrops while crews work through the night to restore power and water. Many are still missing or unaccounted for with local volunteers and teams hiking into inaccessible areas of our county to check on everyone and deliver supplies. Help from both the state and federal government has been arriving as access to the area becomes available and needs appropriately surveyed. Recovery is happening but it will take many months and even years to return our communities to even a slight resemblance of what they once were.

In the next week, I will be returning to Western NC to my hometown to volunteer in recovery efforts and deliver supplies for an indefinite amount of time. I am extremely blessed to have the privilege of being able to dedicate 100% of my time to volunteering and I in good conscience cannot let that go to waste. The people of Appalachia are a strong and determined group who are used to pulling together and helping anyone and everyone we come in contact with. It is the Appalachian way that has always driven both Bed and me to pursue donations to causes we believe in by fundraising through HoFa and persevering even during our hardest times.

I know news such as this is disheartening but do know that every possible effort is being made to ensure Appalachia recovers quickly. If you, your friends, or your family have been impacted by Helene, our hearts go out to you and we are sending our thoughts, love, and best vibes to you. If you are seeking a way to donate items or monetarily, there is an extensive list of places accepting your help here and the link to the organization I have been in contact with who is delivering baby supplies is here. Donations directly to any local churches, fire departments, organizations, and groups are currently most quickly and directly benefiting our communities as compared to large national non-profits.

With all of this said art updates for breeds and crossbreed campaigns may be delayed due to my absence. However, thanks to our new and improved process, much of what I contribute can be done by other members of the HoFa team. So, we are doing our best to stay on schedule (which you will see shortly ๐Ÿ˜‰) but future updates may be a bit delayed past our usual 1-a-month release.

We hope you all are safe, happy, and have an excellent rest of the week.

Cheers,

Bedouin & Curly

Real life comes first. Please take care of yourself through this challenging time. Try to remember you cannot pour from an empty cup and take time to replenish your own resources within. Much love & prayers.

Yes its a signature. I wish there was a permanent like bar or something that separates off signayjre6 at the bottom. There's not even a space between that and normal text
