Crossbreed Campaign Help

Hi. I need help with starting a Crossbreed Campaign.

How do I start? Do I need a Campaign Coin? Please help.

Yes I have read the Wiki. It says nothing on how to start, only what to do after. You guys are more helpful anyway.

P.S. Also, is there a limit on ho many clubs you can own? I want to do two.

> You need a club key to start.

> You need to submit your breed idea with percentages to staff via your club page and wait for approval.

> As far as I know, there are no limits to how many you can own. I am currently running seven? concurrent campaigns

I'm looking for non real breeds, so I have two ideas that have not been done. Yet.

I've got a completed campaign and several more in progress atm, so I like to think I know what I'm doing by now! xD

1. Club keys are expensive. Look through the list of campaigns and see if there's any breed combos you're interested in, and join those clubs! If the owner becomes inactive, you can put yourself up for president and take over the club if you win the election.

2. If you don't feel like any of the existing campaigns are your thing, then you'll have to shell out the money for a club key- I recommend seeing if any players have a spare laying around they don't want, you might be able to trade for it for bits or at least less ingots than what it would cost in the store.

3. Come up with the breed %s you want before you even buy the key and make the club, and get right into those breeds in terms of levelling and breeding good foals.

Which brings me to the main campaign strategy: power levelling. Step 1, Buy 50 mares and 50 stallions of your chosen breed from the foundation, let them sit until they're age 3, and immediately breed them together using the pairing sheet for best results. Retire the foundation horses, and any foals 3* and under. Keep only 4* and 5* foals, and halter them consistently until they're all at least level 50. they should be old enough to breed by this point, so breed them all together. All these new foals will have a TB of 10, and again you want to retire anything less than 4*s. Halter these foals once more, and breed more once your lvl50+s are off cooldown. (repeat this for all breeds you need for your campaign)
These 10TB+ foals are the ones you want to use as the foundation for your crossbreed! I recommend letting them get to level 70+ (still all halters!) and once they're there, breed your first generation of campaign crossbreeds! Your first gen cross should have excellent TB and PS, which means they'll level up faster for breeding Gen2 of your campaign.

This still involves a lot of waiting for horses to age up & level up, so in the meantime is when you save for your club key, buy your club, & submit your campaign application. If all goes well and you time it right, you should have your campaign up and running by the time your first Gen1 foals are ready to be registered in the campaign ^^.

4. Interest: you can't do a campaign on your own! (I know I did because I'm stubborn- but still, don't xD ). Make some posts about the breed you want to create, put it in Shouts with a link to your club (once you have the club) do some giveaways of the parent breeds to make it easier for people to get into it.

5. Funding. it's nice to ignore this while in the breeding phase of your campaign, but it will make your life easier in the long run if you dive right into this part. you need to raise a total of $500 (real moneys) worth of campaign coins (again I did this myself aside from the other needed contributors. but don't :') ). If you have real life money to spend on the site, I recommend buying one campaign coin yourself per week to donate to your own campaign. You can also buy coins from other players- some will trade them for bits, or art, or even horses. And this comes back to interest too- if you make your breed interesting and exciting to other players, they may donate some coins for their own love of the breed :)

6. Time. Don't expect this to be finished in a month or two! six months even. If you're going to do a campaign it's a year, two year long project at the very least (if you get it finished sooner, great! but at least plan for this time frame so you don't get frustrated with how slow things are going.)

that's all I can think of at the moment, if you have any more questions feel free to ask ^^

I dont recommend anyone buy 100 horses unless they have a ton of money and space to afford all of them and their foals when you breed them. Its slower, but totally doable without an astronomical amount of horses. Especially if you work off breeds you are already have that are well established.

Personally, I think the hardest part is getting others interested and invested in your breed, especially when there is already an overwhelming amount of campaigns going on.

.. you need a ton of money and space to do a campaign, especially if you don't want to rely on other players to complete it for you.

buying 100 horses is a big expense to start off, but unless you want spend 5 months on levelling up 20 foundation horses for some kinda okay foals, it's the fastest way to get good breeding stock, and good income. that first generation of foals absolutely rake in profits from halters. I make between 100k and 200k in profits in halters each day from starting off all my new breeds this way. It more than covers the expense of those first 100 horses.

If you want to do a campaign just buying a few good horses when they pop up in sales, levelling up foundies, and breeding the occasional campaign horse when you get some high enough levels, you're looking closer to 2-3 years to complete gen3, if you're lucky and other people get interested in the breed and help out. You can see the amount of campaigns just sitting around with no progress- they're a big commitment if you actually want to see them go somewhere. Some have been on 0-5% since I joined when HoFa started.

I dunno, I already have good horses on hand and am doing quite okay with what I got for my campaign 🤷🏽‍♀️ personally, I think it is easier breeding already established horses then starting from the ground up.

I thought it was obvious, but this is only if you don't already have the breeds you need established.

Right, but I was talking about havig established horses. Still wouldnt recommend buying 100 unless you have plenty of money for it. Its still completely doable without taking "2 or 3 years" but we will just have to agree to disagree
