Percheron tails

So I was looking at breeds for my next breeding project at was looking at Percheron. Why are their tails so short? I know docking tails is done to plow horses or for "fashion". However is this actually something horse fable would show in the breed art? And also what is everyone's opinions on docking horses tails?
My opinion: I believe docking tail is abusive since it effects their ability to defend themselves from flies.
if you've ever seen a docked tail, they're much shorter than in the breed art. it just looks like their trails are trimmed short to me.

Forgotten is right, the breed art isn't docked - just short. Typically tails are short/braided and even docked yes, to keep them out of the way of equipment.
Though, I don't feel personally discussing what is vs. isn't abuse (docking in this case) here is fully necessary, especially considering the art is absolutely not docked as is.
Its hock length, thats definitely not docked
Having worked with the breed myself, I can say the tails in the art are not docked, not by a long shot. They'd have to remove more than half of what is shown in the art to be close to docked. A horse's tail bones are actually not as long as you may think.
