Just a small question, I've noticed that some ppl create horses in the design lab with variants/coats that I don't even have (in the design lab) for some reason. Do I purchase extra creation patterns or something?

Those are made using special breed coins. Spectral and I think magic breed coins allow you to make customs using marking variations.
