Im not sure how that would work. Some horses are just better than others. Some shows also have hundreds of entrants as well

I don't understand how this would work either. I think the wiki explains how horse's stats factor into winning shows - your horse places based on their stats. What other explanation is there?

You can see what placing your horse got in a show under History > Halter Shows. Your horse's placing depends on its stats, breed standards, and performance stats.

My horse that is in a dressage gate always gets first in jumping. Does that see wrong? I just find the placings weird some times. Thank you for the help.

is your horse's discipline set to only dressage? it's possible you have the horse set to dressage as the primary discipline and show jumping as their secondary discipline, in which case you could be entering them into jumping shows.

If the horses stats line up better for show jumping, it will perform better in those classes
