Auctions are so inactive

Has anybody noticed that auctions on HoFa are literally SOOOO inactive now? They used to be crazy active last July, with ppl outbidding each other left and right! I understand that nothing lasts forever, but what the heck happened?

Same, nobody uses it anymore! When I got here, so many people were bidding!=
I don't even try to put horses in auctions anymore and go right to sales.

Less quality horses? I dunno. Any kind of special horse, good PS, pretty color, etc etc usually gets the bidders but any average horse doesnt seem to get much either
Yea, but even still, auctions used to be SOOO active! I wonder what happened ๐ค

last july updates were still coming out at regular intervals, afterwards the development pace changed and now updates have a bit more waiting time in between. a possible side effect may be that people aren't drawn back into the game with frequent new updates and content as often as before.
Piggybacking off of what Forgottenland said:
I just had my account frozen for almost a month straight because I was just so, so, so busy with real-life stuff that I had absolutely zero time to devote to HOFA. I finally Thawed my account last night and was SHOCKED that there wasn't an update or any news post while I was gone. It really has slowed down considerably.
Yeah, it's genuinely sad. Our next update would likely be for the summer solstice (Winter solstice for aussie).

i don't know if i would consider it a bad thing myself exactly. true that it's unfortunate that the playerbase isn't as active right now, but i'm still having a good time. my favorite game Equiverse doesn't even get updates anymore and there's not as many regulars now, we're pretty happy together though. and we were told HoFa's update cycle was going to change anyway, i don't mind the way things are if it's for the best.
to be fair too, last summer there was a lot of updates and changes - plus the Bebe Ranch fundraiser when Teagues were added. This caused an upspike in members (along with Breyerfest,) plus lots of bidding on them when they would pop up in auctions (I very distinctly recall being on all the time just to bid.) So the site was most definitely very active with everything going on. I think something we also need to consider is just like, people have things to do and everyone at some point has to stop playing even if temporary, or fully. I have taken sooo many month+ long breaks, and haven't actively played since the AMH campaign was finished. I want to, but life and playing catch up with my stuff is taking way longer than expected.
I do think maybe once there's an update, or if we get an event or something for summer it could spike activity again. I feel like (for the most part) the game is kinda at a point where it can run as is until there's time. Would I like updates all the time and new fun stuff? yes who doesn't. but i also think it's kinda at a nice lil spot considering there really isn't like...anything going on ^^; The old core playerbase has also mostly moved on minus a few of us, which took a bit of a chunk out of player activity imo.
yeah pretty much, it's a reasonable state we're in right now all things considered
@Beni, Yea, I remember trying out the game bc I saw it in the BreyerFest program (guide). I also would be online mainly for the auctions lol. I also entirely understand that everyone has a life outside of HoFa, and when I said it was "genuinely sad" I just meant that it was sad to see the auctions become inactive as they were a big part of why I've stayed so long, and was one of HoFa's most realistic and fun features imo.
