why do people buy horses and retire them. its so unnessasary and dumb. the amount of retired foals ive seen is insane. does anyone know why?
Might want to see what the foals look like as an adult, then if they aren't what they're looking for it's easier to retire them than to resell them. ๐คทโ๏ธ It can be frustrating but once you make the choice to sell, it's out of your control what happens to them after that.

Yeah unfortunately it is out of our control but I agree its incredibly dumb and a waste. A small part of the reason I rarely sell my horses but I see it with a lot of foals from my studs too. I would sooo take them if they just planned on retiring them. A lot are pretty nice foals too as I usually offer only my best studs and most are private for good mares. Everyone has different breeding goals though. Sometimes selling horses is rough though and even good ones wont sell. I usually wanna surrender them first so someone might have the chance to use them that missed the sale rather than be wasted.
I have, in another game, bought horses with the intention to retire them. It was horses that was "bad" that had owners that was low level and probably needed the money nd I had more money than I needed.
I really can't see the problem here. More foals are produced in the game than there are posible owners for them and if you look at the market so is it flooded with cheap horses that no one neither needs or wants.
sometimes i will go to a person's page that needs more bits and buy the horse just to retire them i don't need the horse but I'm just helping out. but i will only ever but horses gene tested or an adult already
