food is in my opinion the most relibable way to catch wild horses. My advice to you is to create sweet treats an use them. Another advice is to only try to catch horses you are interested in so you have a treats to spare for them. It's usually not worth to catch a wild horse to sell it.

Personally treats are the way to go. I did have some sweet treats, but wasn't finding much in the way of molasses, though I have found plenty of other items.

Essentially what I do is find a horse that I like, whether it's 4 or 5 stars, heccin angry or not, I try to get it, then pay attention to the % it goes up whenever you give a treat. For example, an oat apple treat might net you 8% whereas an oat alfalfa might net you 10%, if it's clover alfalfa use it too. Whatever ones give you 10% try to pepper them with it to get it enough to get the Try to Call option. On occasion, the horse has and can run away but not all.

I never really use whistles, lassos or pets. Treats are my number one way to go. Sweets can sweeten the deal so to speak, but that's dependent on if you find molasses enough to use.

I disagree with Aleon - I think you can get a lot depending on the breed and their coat color/pattern. Any horses with dapples will go pretty high and I think if you found any of the wild variations of any colors those would go pretty high in auctions.

Personally I'm paying 15k for any wild arabians, 25k if they have any variations 2-6 and 50k for variations 7+ (these are wild specific ones)

Saddlebreds seem to sell pretty well too. I'm seen ones with variations/dapples go pretty high. And Marwari's or Akhal Teke's.

I think the most important thing is to advertise, advertise, advertise! I'm terrible about remembering to check auctions so I always rely on advertisements.

It'd also be worth joining the Discord if you're not there already. You can watch the market/advertisments and there's a price check channel to get feedback from others.

I don't know if this helps but I capture a lot of horses just using constant whistles xD if I really want it I'll pet, treat then whistle. Both can work, but it might be riskier. This likely isn't the best way but it works for me.

I personally use a mix of treats and petting. I got lucky during the winter events and got a bunch of food items that always count as the best (peppermints!), else I know there is a forum posted that tells you what specific breeds want (https://horsefable.com/topic/6870/)
Whenever the mood gets to green (and around 30-40%) I try one pet, feed, and retry a pet. that'll usually bring me near 60-70% ish and I finish with treats.

I use whistles for horses I like but I don't want to spend the valuable treats on.

Currently I'm looking for specifically reverse dapples, so in case a skewed or a pretty horse comes up I just whistle it, I use treats on the reverses.
