Advice!

Hi! I am somewhat new to this game, and I am looking to get more into it. I have a few questions, but all advice is appreciated. Yes, I have looked through the Wiki and took out some things I found helpful. Though, I might have missed some.
1. What is more sought after? Are there any breeds "better" than the others?
2. Are there certain coats / patterns people want more? Do they differ from breed to breed?
3. What does mama / Mama stand for? Is the capitalization significant?
4. What all things go into determining the price of a horse that you either sell, or stud/brood out?
5. When you get into breeding, what kind of tips do you guys have?
I think this is all for now. If I miss any, I'll be ask more. Thank you!
1. Breeds change ALOT but TBs, Quarter Horses, Irish Sport Horses, & Friesians are all in right now!
2. Lots of people like dappled or dapple carriers
3. Not sure
4. How may stars the horses have is 1, genes, how rare the breed is, & breed standards are a few
5. Go for purebreds, if you have to sell it more people are likly to buy it, more people on HoFa like purebreds then crossbreds. Don't put price to high or nobody will want to pay, if you have a grade horse you want to put up for stud/brood put it for 2500ish, home bred 5500ish, foundation horses 2000ish, wild horses 5500ish, and bought horses 4500ish.☺️ Hope I helped!

1. What is more sought after? Are there any breeds "better" than the others?
The breed doesnt make the horse, better is a relevant term depending on what you are breeding for be it PS/BS/Color or Discipline/Careers/Halter. You want to look at those factors more than breeds depending on again what you plan on focusing on and thats completely up to you. I disagree that there are any particular breeds that are "in" right now. There is so much variety of breeds, whatever you choose you are sure to find people for.
2. Are there certain coats / patterns people want more? Do they differ from breed to breed?
There are coats and patterns you can only find in certain breeds but with grades you are open to way more possibilities. Some people dont focus on colors so it really depends, although when they do they tend to like a lot of color, longer color names. Or unqiue markings like badger faces, bend or spots, birdcatcher spots, rabicano or any different variations of patterns which are rare and can be found under markings if they have a variation. Manchado and Mushroom are generally more rare as is Calico. Although as a Manchado Thoroughbred breeder they are starting to become a dime a dozen as even my cousin has trouble selling them anymore. It seems everyone has them and they arent hard to obtain anymore. Mushroom and Calico I think are still kind of rare.
3. What does mama / Mama stand for? Is the capitalization significant?
Mama is the Manchado gene and works the same as any other gene. MaMa means it does bot carry the gene, Mama is a carrier and mama is a Manchado. Same as how Ee carries black and EE is black while ee is not black. Or Gg, GG, gg for grey, etc etc.
4. What all things go into determining the price of a horse that you either sell, or stud/brood out?
This really depends on you and variest from player to player but also falls in line with what you are breeding for. Back to Manchados, they used to go for a lot but as they are more common now, my cousin hasnt managed to sell any for much of anything or not at all. Wilds usually can go for a decent amount on auctions as they are usually 4-5 stars and are blank slates for people. Higher stars, levels and PS are generally worth more but the market is flooded with a LOT of low PS/level horses. Its best to have a few horses and focus on raising their levels and PS to sell or stud/brood them.
5. When you get into breeding, what kind of tips do you guys have?
Pick something to focus on. If you want a specific breed/color/discipline go for it. I have a lot of horses but one of my focuses is high quality Thoroughbred Racehorses that I also breed in Manchado. Or Hunter/HUS Dutch Warmbloods. Start with a select few, dont burn your money buying a ton of horses. Work and training and showing them and getting them to level 50 minimum before breeding them. This lets you have foals of at least 10 TB when you finish foal training them which is ideal for well produced foals. Keep some foals to further your lines and sell some. Dont be afraid to surrender or retire horses that dont make the cut for your personal breeding program, especially if they dont sell.
Purebreds do sell better unless they are for a crossbreed campaign. Random mutt crosses aren't as popular.
Take your time, its a long game to play rather than rushing into it. I see too new players blow their money and then are begging for people to buy their low quality horses. Take your time and you can build up a herd of good quality horses.

Thank you so much for the help!
Chincoteages are one of the newest breeds, and I can sell those for 10k. Akhal Tekes and Marwaris are the other rare breeds (rare breeds only have 5 breedings each, keeping them more rare).
Weirdly enough Chincos were ones my cousin had trouble selling as well. I was figuring they were losing popularity as well
I agree with Maki, I had a Ff Crn up and he went for about 3k in auctions, as I figured Flaxen would sell well. Only my Zz foal went over 30k. I see plenty of Chincos in auction house and they just seem to end and get put back up again. There's also a lot up for sale in general but well over 10k and I think they have been there a while. I remember putting up for auctions some TB 10 chinco foals once fully trained and they never sold. I don't recall what I put them up for, but I usually put low reserve/starting bid and let others bid on them. Some of those foals never sold, so I still have em.
Hi again! Thank you, everyone! With the advice, I'm starting to understand the game a tad more; enjoying it. I've been exploring a lot, so what types of things should I sell after finding them? What do people like?
Dyes and gems from the mine. Breed coins are supposed to be rare but they are a dime a dozen honestly but you can try. Any wilds you aren't interested in. People usually need treats, lassos, whistles for catching wilds.
Branching off what Maki said, there is Holiday Dyes/Seasonal and newer Gems. We just had Holiday Dyes; Fraiser Fir, Snowcream, Ice, Navy, Evergreen to name a few. These tend to be around a Holiday and or a Season, usually they tend to go for more than plain old regular dyes.
Gems some of the newer ones are: Onyx, Amythest, Rose Quartz, Citrine and I think that's it while the rest have been there. These too can sometimes go for more than the regular gems.
