Is there an easy way to make money as a new player?

Im new to this game, and find showing isn’t really giving, and I’m slowly running low. Is there an easy way to make money in this game so I don’t have to worry about not being able to feed my horses?
I'm stepping in to put in a reminder for everyone that this discussion is borderline breaking rules 1 and 2 of Conduct listed below as a reminder:
1) Everyone is expected to be respectful and have a good attitude toward others. Horse Fable is hatred-free and will not tolerate any hateful act or allusion to hate toward any group of people(s). This includes the use of the term “gypsy” for horse names and/or reference to the breed “Gypsy Vanner”.
2) Trolling, picking fights, personal attacks, and arguing is not allowed.
Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, but we also need to express our opinions in a respectful manner without picking fights, singling out players, or further fueling arguments. Comments that are not constructive and do not add to the discussion or provide additional information or things fto consider for OP are not necessary.
If it continues, I will lock this thread. Everyone, please be respectful towards all players and their views. :)

I'm not defending careers. Simply ensuring that what's being offered isn't giving people the wrong ideas. You may've found little use in careers. As you've said, 'careers can be useful', but the following part isn't neseccearily as true as you've made it seem: 'huge draw back of the low potential of leveling up your horse'.
Leaving somebody, especially a newbie, with such a skewed understanding, may give them the idea to never give it a try and might lead them to suggesting the same thing to other newbies down the road. It could leave them ill-equiped to survive in the early stages, especially. You're experience and choice of words can hamstring the future newbies of the game.
You're right, they are indeed your personal views. But your personal views aren't necessarily the views of everybody playing. Other things that others of us have said are also our personal opinions but some of it also reflects how the game is set up to help us move forward along different paths. If you feel that one certain way is really the wrong way to go about doing things, then certainly prove it, so the game admins can change it to work better for us.
This is a game and it's supposed to have many ways to win. So if one way you feel is really inferior to others, and it needs to be changed, then prove it so that we can (rather admin can) improve it to improve overall gameplay to a more level playing field.
And if you were to look, I have quite a number on that top 100 myself. None of them are career, but like I said, I don't have a career bloodline either.😄
Stop getting so heated under the collar; after all, this is a game. I wasn't attacking you. Take a deep breath and enjoy the game again.🥰
Whoops! Little long typing out my reply.
Apologies, mods. I'll say no more.😊
Thank you guys so much for helping, I never expected an argument out of it though. I think I’ll try the career path first, and if it doesn’t help, I’ll view other options, Thank you 😊
I'll add in my two cents.
I put all 1 and 2* horses into careers. It's slow at the start (and they actually gain more points in halter shows in the initial low stat phase of their lives) but once the horse reaches the 'amateur' level they are gaining more or equal points over halter showing. The benefit of careers is that there is no entry fee, so you get all the money. Even with only about one third of my horses in careers they easily produce the biggest portion of my income.
3, 4, and 5* horses I put in halter shows, as most of mine are low generation. In some cases discipline shows will out preform in points over halters, but at the moment I just use disciplines for when the halter shows haven't run and I want to use the rest of their energy. I generally break even on halter shows. Sometimes I'll make a ton of money and get more than what my careers bring in, just depends on the day.
I plan to discipline show horses in later generations, when they have much higher stats and (I assume) give more points than halter shows.
