Compete with crossbreed?

I have a Quarter Paint (2 or 3 years) that I bought that are able to compete. I also have a foal, that are fully trained but when I try to enter it in a competition it says he needs to be registred. He is registred in Quarter Paint Association. My other foal are able to compete, but him. What am I missing?

It says "This foal needs to be registered!", but I can't find any other way to register it than in the club section.
