Notifications

I know the topic is kind of broad, but when I thought about it there's more than one area I'd like more notifications in.  Maybe even make it something like 'barn manager' where you could pay 50k (like the food/water/grooming) just to have important notifications pop up.

Notifications I'd like to see:

- Horse has retired.  Reason:  I barely look at my overall estate page, at least, I don't daily and not unless I have to.  I've had horses that were older retire and I just don't realize it until I either go looking for the particular horse or get to the estate page.

-- Tied into this one above, maybe just a 'this horse has hit 20' notification to stay aware of aging horses.  If you have a small herd it might not be that big of an issue, but once you get a lot of horses and a lot of tabs it can be confusing.

- As above, a 'foal has aged up' would be nice.  It's not as needed as the retired horse notification though.

- An offer was made on your trade/your trade has been bought out.  Reason:  Just another nice reminder.  Sometimes I just don't notice that it was bought out, sometimes I notice that my money is different then have to go and find out.  I know you can get around this by watching your own trades, which I do, but I feel like a notification could streamline a lot of this.

- You're running out of food/water!  Another thing I forget to check often is how much food/water I have for auto-feed.  I generally catch it, and it's not a life or death deal since I feel all my horses from my Horses > Manage tab each day, but a notification when it's low would be a nice reminder for it.

- You have unread messages.  Reason:  Just in case one is missed for more than ~24hrs or something.  Or just have it a little icon or something indicating a missed message.

I know there are probably more I think about as I'm scrolling around the site, but a horse retiring and an offer on a trade are the two big ones for me.    I figured a barn manager role would fit nicely as an addition, as they'd be relaying information about the barn for us who might have a lot going on in our barns.

Suggestions From Comments:

From BlackOak - Be super nice little addition if after purchased, you can manually turn on and turn off the reminders. Would really suit the whole barn manager addition. Customization! Go!

From Rosi -  I would also like a "your horse is ready for training" or "your foal is done with training". I always accidentally put my horses in halter before checking if training is needed.

I agree completely. I got into the habit of checking my Estate daily so I dont miss things but it would be my luck the day I forget to check I miss something.

I always forget about the food and water storage until I notice I cant do anything with my horses and I am like dangit again.

Trades are a big one that need notifications. I am pretty sure it was you I got the Manchado straw from and I had no idea you accepted my offer until I think I just happened to go to the clinic and see it in my storage. Like oh, that would be nice to be notified of ya know? Happy I got it but at least let me know game.

Or even if they accept a different offer. Like you dont even know that, the trade is just gone so you are just left to assume, ah well someone else got it I guess.

Agree.

And there's nothing more I can really add! Kind of covered all the irritating little 'oofs' that I have too. πŸ˜…

Support. I would like a notification of other things like that. I would also like a "your horse is ready for training" or "your foal is done with training". I always accidentally put my horses in halter before checking if training is needed. It would be nice for a notification of that.

Funny thing is I was about to make this same exact thing lmao-

Agree with BlackOak on turning off and on notifications for certain things, make it kind of customizable to what you want to pay attention to.

support for all, especially for retiring horses! and for training too since i often forget about it.

i actually wish the trade watch feature was on auctions instead, and that trades just had alerts on by default. sure you get an alert when you're outbid by someone, but from the seller's side there are often times where i'm trying to get a horse sold asap vs waiting for an autobuy/auction end. so being able to see right away that someone's interested in a particular horse would be helpful in getting those auctions done early.

but because of bidding wars i can imagine it would be too easy to get spammed with a ton of alerts. maybe it would probably be better for just the first bid to have a notification? or even have one alert per individual person's first bid (e.g. if 3 players are in a bidding war, you only get 3 notifications total).

@forgottenland

Although I can see how it could be useful in an auction setting, it's easy enough to click on the auction and then click on My Auctions to check out if a bid was put in or not.

So I can't find watching an auction, a useful addition in the overall of the game. I could only see... if push came to shove, a single notification of the very first bid. But again, still quite easy to see in the My Auctions section and the max is only three days... so... yeah, that part I can't agree with.

In the past, I had the same problem with forgetting to check on training before entering the horses. I fixed my problem with getting the first training book upgrade. Now, I simply go into town, community training and bulk train there. No more missing trainings. ☺️ Just gotta remember to train at an acceptably high-enough training facility, because higher training horses may not show on certain facilities.🀷 So, fixed one problem, encountered a new one. πŸ˜…
