Branding etiquette

Hi all! Possibly an odd question- is it ok to brand a horse that another player bred? (Given, of course, that it isn't already branded) I'm not sure if it is frowned upon or not. Thanks for your input :)
I do it all the time. If they didnt want to brand I will, especially if I plan to have it a good part of my breeding stock. Why not
