Tack in shows

Does the tack you use affect your ability in shows? I want to split my horses work load equally over halter and comps and I wondered if having a halter on compared to a bridle (or vice versa) would impact on the horses placement in shows/halter classes. Thanks! :)

Tack only makes a difference in discipline shows. Having a halter on for a halter show doesn't do anything. :)
