How to train skills for Careers?

Hi all, I just started looking into training some of my horses for careers. Currently the horses are trained for Driving and Model horse. I went to the horse's page and clicked on training> selected drop down for "model horse" > chose my training stable and then clicked "train" , however the green bubble showed that Disipline stats for driving increased instead? There was no increase in their skills. I also tried my training manual and clicked the slide bar over to model horse and again did not see an increase in skills.

Not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong since I'm new to careers.

Hello!

Skills are gained by entering your horse into Career jobs and Halter shows. You do not get skills for training them. You can read more about it on this page: https://horsefable.wiki/skills/

Also, performance stats have affect on how the horse performs in their careers. So that's where they tie in. There's a chart on the wiki below that lets you know what Stats they use. You should be able to "train" in that careers rather than the discipline career so that only the career performance stats will go up. It just won't increase skills.

Honestly though, I use my foundations/low tier horses in careers and I just put whatever discipline I plan to switch them to eventually and train in that. I found it doesn't make a huge difference in the results.
