Hello everyone and welcome to today's update! Today, we have a rather large update that includes optimization, new things, and bug squashes!

🐎 New Breed: Paso Fino

Prancing into Horse Fable comes the Paso Fino! This breed is known for its unique smooth gait and beautiful sleek appearance. This breed excels in many disciplines most notably, trail, which uses intelligence, endurance, and agility. Paso Finos come in all base colors, duns, cream dilutes, tobiano, sabino, and roan. On Thursday, February 16th at 6 PM EST/game time, Paso Finos will be for sale in the foundation store for gold and platinum players. On Saturday the 18th at 12 PM EST/ game time, they will be available for all.

 

🐅 New Gene: Tiger Eye

The tiger eye gene is unique to the Paso Fino breed, which causes a horse's eye to appear yellow, orange, and sometimes amber. This gene is still being discovered by Helix who hopes to soon be able to send information to Dr. Hoofinit to test for the gene. Some wild Paso Finos may produce the tiger eye when they appear in the wilds Saturday the 18th at 12 PM EST/ game time or very rarely in the foundation store.

 

💗 New Marking: Heart!

Love is in the air and a new face marking has our hearts! Starting today, the heart face marking will randomly occur on horses in the foundation store, and wilds, and is available in custom coins.

💕 New Items: Valentine's Harnesses & Black Hearts

To keep our Valentine’s fun going, new Red Velvet and Strawberries N’ Cream harnesses have been added. These harnesses are limited edition and offer a 5% twin boost when equipped to your horse. Valentine's harnesses are in the general store now until February 28th at midnight. 

For those of you who aren’t the biggest fans of Valentine's day, or those who just love a spooky vibe, a black floating hearts background overlay has also been added! These will be in the general store now until February 28th at midnight. 

❤️ Valentine’s Day Items

This Valentine’s Day, treat yourself to one of our many valentine themed items. Returning to the general store are Red Velvet and Strawberries n’ Cream English and western tack which boast a 5% twin boost when bridle, saddle, and pad are equipped.  Also returning are the cherry blossom background, the floating hearts background item, and the cherry petal background item.

Will has also re-stocked on several breeding items such as the horse-friendly chocolate truffle and breeders promise! These items are available now until February 28th at midnight.

🐴 Grade Images

A very large set of grade horse images are now complete! Many grade horses are now sporting all fancy new coats. Code work for Fjords and a few other layers are still in the works.

 

👩‍💻 Optimization

This week, we pulled in one of Bedouin’s developer friends who did an audit on Horse Fable’s server. He was able to find and optimize quite a few things to help the server perform better. With that said, we’re proud to say that some of the unexplained lag should be addressed and no longer happen. In addition to this, we’ve set up some database-specific monitoring that we’re keeping an eye on for any slow performance in the game itself.

 

This has been a long process and we appreciate you sticking with us through all the issues! We feel that the worst of them have been addressed now, and we’ll continue to improve the game through small rewrites of database queries and specific pages. 

 

🏛️ New: Register All in Clubs

As promised, the Register All button has been added to clubs! Like the one for breed registries, this is only available if you’re a Bronze or higher upgrade tier. Let’s save time on all those campaign horses. 😁

 

🐞 Bug Squashes

• An issue with discipline show earnings was corrected and you should now see the correct amount charged per show.
• You should now be able to remove horses from halter shows.
• You should see the appropriate horse count for your frozen tabs.

 

 ⭐ Breeding Error

An issue with breedings occurred when we pushed live some updates earlier. If you have a horse bred between 3:00 PM and 4:45 PM EST/game time today that had a broken breeding, message me links to the horses and I can have their breeding cooldown reset.
