When you are on your horse's page, there is a little tree symbol in the top right corner in between the magnifying glass and pen symbols. Its called equipper. Click that and it will show you what tack your horse has and how to remove it. As long as your horse's tack had more than one use when you equipped it, it will go back into your storage room.
