Faerieland Sales - Appy, Sugarbush, Harlequin
destinysWalrus [Bronze || 162 posts] on 2/05/2023 4:53 am
A thread for my sales horses. Current projects are Appaloosas and Sugarbush Drafts (75% Perch, 25% Appy). Horses with their names italicized are available for stud/brood; horses marked "short lines" have foundation horses for parents. Horses that are 10 BV or better are priced in ingots, unless they're grey or greying (this doesn't usually come up, but I've been selling a few recently).

Last lazy update: 11/11/24
Full updates mean that I have gone through my entire list of sales horses, updating all of their listed information, as well as adding any new sales horses to the relevant posts. I don't really have a set schedule for when I do this. "Lazy" updates mean that I have removed any sold horses from the posts, and if relevant, from the Quick Links table above. If I've had to remove a horse from the Quick Links table, I also update which horse is linked in the newly-empty cell. This generally happens every time I see that a horse has sold (usually within a day of when it sells).

Project 2: Sugarbush (75% Perch, 25% Appy)
Because I'm breeding toward Sugarbush BS, not Percheron BS, most Percherons for sale will be 3*, with the occasional 4-5* horse. For any other project, I'd retire horses with three stars or below, but Percherons for sale or stud seem pretty rare.

...Because, apparently, heaven forbid I do anything that's not complicated.
First full update in a while, had to add several horses to the list. Tweaked pricing algorithms to make Appaloosas slightly cheaper and Percherons slightly more expensive than before.

Updated all sale prices!
However, as I expect to have limited internet access for the next ~12 days, I've temporarily removed all horses from stud/brood. (I won't be able to accept breeding requests in a timely fashion)

Updated sale prices and finally remembered to put the studs/broods back up.

In a fit of annoyance at "argh these lines are taking over my herd", I've put up several Percherons.

Another fit of annoyance, another set of Percherons. Price algorithm tweaked cheaper for Percherons, left alone for Appaloosas.

Relatively minor adjustments to the pricing algorithm - specifically, sale prices now round to the nearest thousand instead of nearest hundred. Stud/brood prices remain fixed at ~1/5 of sale prices, though now rounded to the nearest 500 instead of 50. Bit to ingot ratio has been adjusted to 400:1 rather than the previous 300:1 (mostly relevant to those few 6E horses, which I price in ingots by default, but also affects stud prices).
No other tweaks than those above, which were (except for the ingot ratio) mostly just for prices to look neater to me, and thus stop bugging me.
That said - Percherons do seem to be becoming slightly more common, so I'm tempted to either tweak their prices lower again, or to start retiring the 3*s. (Even if ideal BS for Sugarbushes does produce a 3* Perch)

Bumping with a post! No particular notes except that I now have a bunch of Sugarbushes for sale.
