Hello there everyone!
I have been doing a bit of research on new breed genetics and have found quite a few interesting horses out there. I'm curious, what's your favorite real-life horse coat color? Is there a coat color HoFa doesn't have?
Ivory Champagne!! i want to see it so bad!

My choice would be brindle.
And there's a new article that speaks about it. https://horseracingsense.com/brindle-horse-breeds-colors-rare/
So, we're moving along in brindle understanding, apparently.
I'd actually like to see either (or both) in-game. But the rarest of them, the chimera brindle, could only happen when twins occur. Which would certainly make them super rare. Although I'm not sure how the resulting DNA, specifically the color genetics would be handled. Talk about skewing the code! 😅 Certainly would be an interesting addition, though.
My personal favorite coat is blue roan with lots of white on the face and legs.
As for colors we don't have, the only ones I can think of are Light Black(which are usually a solid brown shade but genetically black and are usually born with pinkish skin and blue eyes that darken to gold, but so far there's no genetic information on the color that I know of) and black chestnut(which I guess is just really dark liver chestnut, but would still be neat to have).
Also would be neat if we could have the option of getting blood marks on gray coats.
And not a coat, but I'd love a face marking thats just a star and snip combination.
@ChamFox I found this, which sounds like it describes the color you're talking about? https://learninghorses.com/black-buckskin-horse-color/
As far as favorites go... give me a good dark bay with lots of white. I love, love, love dark bay overo and splash horses in particular. I also love silver horses - in fact, I used to imagine owning a horse that was solid black with a white blaze, mane, tail, and legs. I didn't yet know the silver gene existed! (...and I guess I know what my next custom is going to look like...)
For colors, patterns or genes we don't yet have in-game... well, the one I would most like to see is W21, but we don't yet have Icelandics in game so I'll just have to wait :)
@Springacres I'm actually talking about Light Black Dilution (secondary source) which lightens black horses all over the body and mane/tail to a brownish color. It's speculated to be a recessive color since most horses with it are highly linebred. So far all of these horses have tested negative for all the known dilution genes.
Black is my favorite color on horses (Like my handsom boy Loki) and I don't think you have albino horses
