Sell back to game or a player payment feature

I really wish there was a sell back to game feature. Have it the same price as the create price or maybe a few hundred under that. A lot of the foundation creates aren't worth much and the options to get rid of them are pretty low.

My other suggestion is a player paycheck. Every Friday each player could be paid a  few thousand? Not enough to make an outrageous amount of money but soemthing to help cushion the blow when you run out of funds and to help you save up for a special horse

As a new player it's very hard to play around and expirement without running out of money.

Semi- Support !

I second pretty much what Renvers said. I like how the foundation store is a money sink, so I don't think having a horse trader is a great option. My one thought is perhaps to remove the surrender fee so that it is free to send a horse to the rescue and allow another another player to pick it up.

I do support the item buyback though. I have a ton of brown tack that I no longer want now that the black tack came out. And sometimes the market is slow for gems so that would be neat. Mining could be like a "job" for new players.

I do want new players to learn how the game operates and be able to make money on their own, but I do get how it would be hard to recover from a financial ooopsie due to not understanding the game at first. Perhaps have a bankrupcy option where one-time you can restart your account and have the starting finances again.

Agreed with Renvers, I've seen stuff like this happen with other Simulation and breeding games. Players are having a hard time making money so they want a sure way, cheap, alternative, instead of putting in the effort for it. Not saying players don't work, but if you could simply sell your bad horses to someone, breeding for good ones becomes less of a priority, leaving players who do breed good horses, worthless in the bigger picture.

This kind of change leads to hyperinflation in the currency, and nobody likes it when the currency has to be updated. It happened in the transfer and a lot of players lost money, myself included.

I understand that the foundation store sinks your money, but players on here should know that the foundation doesn't give the best horses, and it's the player's decision to take that risk.

I think a better alternative would be bank interest, players earn money based on how much they have in the bank. Just like in real life, the money earned fluctuates by how much money the player has.

Newbies already get money from the given quests, and if they run out of money, it's a learning experience.

@Fantain

The bank gives interest on money once a week on sunday, I can't remember the exact amount but I think it's around 1.5% for basic players.

I agree with what everyone is saying, maybe the solution to the too many horses(like my self) its so ahrd to advertise to the right people even when you have a popular breed. Just throwing out an idea you could surrender your first 5 horses for free, for chance for soemone to love them without it costing money and then the rest cost money to surrender so you dont just dump them into retirement and then it colgs storage in the game.

I'm pretty new here but these are my two cents.

So, what I think the concern is, is that players would end up breeding a lot of horses with no regards for quality just to dump them at a horse trader.

Maybe it would work then if only Foundations/Creates were allowed to be resold- and only within a certain amount of time of the initial purchase (and again, for a fraction of the price they were bought for). Perhaps the price for the buyback would fluctuate based on the number of Foundations bought and sold (either by the player or overall) over the course of that week, between, say, $500 and $1500 (buyback goes up when more foundations are bought and down when foundations are sold). A cap on the number of foundations that can be sold each week would probably also work.

I don't think it's really necessary for players to get "free money" every week; I haven't run into any issues so far (though I tend to hoard money in sim games). I didn't realize the bank gave interest! I don't know that that's stated anywhere (or at least anywhere that would be easy to find).

It's also important to note, on the subject of easy money, that you can play higher or lower a lot, and each time you successfuly guess the number you get $100. It can take a bit of time to complete a round, but there's really no reason to add in another guaranteed source of money atm.

On the subject of easy & free money, every player has access to the Model horse career. It costs nothing to use your horses in careers and you will gain more money over time from it. It's no doubt the best option for players who are just starting out.

Now, with wild horses able to be caught, there is a plethora of relatively cheap, good quality horses around the site (and you can catch one yourself too, with just some energy and a bit of luck!) - there's really no need to pull a ton of horses from the Foundation Store unless you have the extra cash for it.

I semi support this, however I have always been a huge advocate of helping new players get on their feet in this game.  I have never been hugely competitive when it comes to breeding horses, but I have found that I excel in the Careers with even my rather mediocre horses.  All players have access to the Model Horse career, like Mewlie said above.  The best thing to do is find a breed that you know will excel (like American Saddlebreds and Tennessee Walking Horses) and see if anyone is selling them for low priced.  Those low priced horses will earn money each time that they are worked and they actually move up rank really quickly.  Other than that, show your horses daily.  I have been experimenting with two Foundation Horses that I am showing daily and they have earned me at least $500 a piece daily and they are doing well, despite not having really nice stats.  I encourage everyone to just play around with it, you really cannot mess this game up.  My advice is to save up, buy the buildings, show/work your horses as often as you can, and breed occassionally. Take my advice with a grain of salt, if you wish.  I have been here since nearly the beginning of Eqcetera and back then had the best of the best when it came to Pearl Quarter Horses. I stuck around, gave up breeding quarter horses, and now I created my own breeds to play around with (no Crossbreed Campaign at this time due to real life funds).

Personally, I almost always have a special running where I will literally give away a free horse or two that specialize in the Model Horse Career to new players.  Very few have actually taken advantage of it and frankly, I quit breeding the horses at this time.  But the offer is always on the table.  My October offer is my most fun yet, LOL! At least, I am enjoying it.

Another easy way for anyone to make money is to make shows every day, they cost nothing to make and take all of a minute. My basic account can make 6 shows and over the last week brought in on average 5k a day. It might take some time to find out which discipline and tier brings in the most along with checking that there won't be more than 10 shows of the same type but other than that it's easy money.

I support this more as a way to dump excess item inventory :)

Model horse career is the best option for making cash, as well as selling explore items.
