Crossbreed Marking Variations & Focus Group
Happy weekend everyone! Today we have part 2 of our 3 part marking variation update!
Crossbreed Marking Variations
Up until now, crossbreeds did not have all the marking variations purebreds had. I have officially finished all layers for crossbreeds for leopard genes, KIT genes (To, Sa1, W#), frame overo (Fr), and splash white (SW). All KIT genes have 6 variations for both maximum and minimum types, 4 variations for maximum and minimum splash whites, 6 variations for overo, and 3 variations for all leopard patterns.
In our next marking update, we will be finishing up current grade horse image requests and variation 2 for roan. We expect this to be done by mid-week next week. Skewed roan and duns will be added once we are off our art pause.
Leopard Variations
In the upcoming month, we will be adding more leopard variations to total to 6 per leopard variation type. As of now, all breeds with Lp have three leopard variations. Today we have added 1 more variation for leopard for Appaloosas and Mustangs in the foundation store. Those who won our design a white marking contest will be contacted next week about their prize!
Focus Group
We have had a lot of interest in giving feedback for our focus groups and will be looking for a few people to join the focus group team. Before we end today's news post we wanted to ask a general question for all our players. If you could add any one item to the game, what would it be and what would it do?

As for your question, if I could add any item in the game, I guessit would be aluminium horseshoes? Can be equiped like tacks (tho not necessarily needs artwork), wear off like tacks will and give a little boost for competition, just like tacks.
I would add, maybe a rosette or something that would be able to change a horse's gender. I've had instances where this would be insanely helpful. Like standard hunting in the foundie store but not noticing you picked the wrong gender. Or breeding and not getting the gender you wanted and having to wait the cool down period out.
If I could have any item, at this point, it would be a feature I sorely miss from Equetera - the ability to equip and unequip tack from the horse's pages. I really really dislike going through the storage room and I have completely put off selling horses or just retiring them, so I don't have to fiddle with tack or lose it.
If we're talking strictly items, I can't really think of anything I would want to add at the moment. If by 'item' you mean features as well, it would be really nice to be able to equip/unequip tack and other things on an individual level per horse and not have to use the mass equip feature or the storage room. A preview feature for said items might be nice too.

In answer to the item idea:
Show Halters - they would be purely cosmetic for horses that are in discipline shows or careers, but give a slight boost in Halter show scores. Similar to how tack benefits discipline shows, but for Halter horses.
A paintbrush or paint can. It changes your horse white pattern (Overo, tobi, ect) to a new variation. Maybe pay more to be able to choose.
Wooden paint brush - random variation.
Gilded paint brush - you choose from a dropdown list.
My item would definitely be something that makes white variations easier to obtain. I love brumbies idea! but also maybe the idea of a breeding item and guarantees a white variation in the foal, even the parents don't have it?
