I have this beauty! ?

Cloud's Change ... I don't know what colors are actually 'rare' in thoroughbreds (I just started a project with them on this account), but I love this guy's color. I have a few other rose greys but he's the only one that looks like this (I'm assuming cause he's Ee and not ee like the others, so his grey is able to be expressed... can someone correct me if I'm wrong?) Also, if anyone can help me out with what colors are rare/special in tbs that'd be greatly appreciated :)

Grey shows on all bases as the horse is basically losing its pigment. The only thing that covers grey is white because white is the complete lack of pigment. What is showing on your guy right now is the greying look greys initially have before they fully turn grey at 5. I'll edit this with a link to a rose grey thoroughbred. Link to a rose grey TB.

I breed thoroughbreds and I find that the rarest genes are flaxen, any of the kit genes (dominant white, sabino, tabiano, and roan), and overo.

Show Prospects - Grey is always expressed but here on Eqcetera it gets expressed more as the horse ages (just like in real life!). So you can start with a foal that looks like another color, and as it reaches age 2 it begins to turn grey, and by age 5 it will be fully "greyed-out"! Personally, I love all the variations of grey here on EQC!
